The next event?

I think we need to start thinking about about a new event to help promote the new server. I think we should do something somewhat simple, maybe a king of the hill type of idea where whomever is closest to a certain point on the map at a given time is the winner. Just an idea, but let's come up with something, get it planned for say two weeks out, then promote the crap out of it everywhere we can. Maybe we could not only give in game prizes, but maybe I could convince Blonde to donate an ARMA 3 Alpha key?

@Nouniquenicks, I love your idea, but think we need other events between now and when you want to run yours.

After talking to Warprosper this morning here is some of what we came up with:

The King of Taff Grove Tower

Objective - To be the person at, or closest to, the top of the radio tower in Taff Grove at a designated time, likely 9PM server time.
Prizes - Still being worked on, but I would like to award the winner with a good primary weapon and vehicle, a basic starter pack(still being worked on, but would likely include some food, water, and a map), and if possible an ARMA 3 alpha key(I need to see what favors I have to perform to get one donated for the cause)
Rules - Any whitelisted player is eligible to participate. To win you must log into the server at least X minutes(still being determined, but likely 30-60) before the even ends. This is to prevent someone from logging of on the top of the tower, then logging in right as the event ends.

All legal gear is allowed. You can try to get to the top of the tower first, and defend it the whole time, or you can try to determine when to make your last minute run for the glory. Help me fill in the details, and let's get this planned and promoted.

Note that those ArmA3 keys are "alpha lite". You don't get access to the beta or get the game. Just the alpha from March til June...ish... I believe.

If you offered the trinity ( nvgs, range finders, gps) that alone would get a lot of players interested. IF not all of the white listed.

want to ice that cake? add a free copy of the stand alone when it is released.

I like the idea of it but am really interested to hear the flushed out details.
