the last few publicized initiatives against botters/rmt numbered in the several hundred to few thousand iirc.

    So it happens.

botters are different than player X decides he's done with the game and sells his account to someone that wants to get into eve without having to go through the ground floor to do it though... Botters got banned in eq all the time but VERY rarely did someone buy an account and get banned (even though they said they would do so).

Same with purchasing platinum in EQ. Against the rules and OCCASIONALLY someone would get their platinum wiped if they suddenly had 10 million plat and were level 1. But it was rare. I bought probably 2 million plat over a few characters when I decided to try to get back into the game and didn't feel like putting in 2 years of time to get to that point again. Never had a problem.

Krakkens and shit. stop tempting them.

I am not familiar with players/accounts getting banned for selling pilots, but that doesn't mean it hasn't happened. Most of the bans I know of are from people making isk through artificial means.

Poor babies. In Eve, the GMs don't roll back the isk to where it was. The roll it back the full amount twice. I've actually read people talking about how they were now billions in the red and tried to RMT to get in the black. The GMs caught them and put them even more in the red. I did look at it when I was starting out (I didn't know what RMT was). From Googling, I found it it was something to avoid.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P

There is a 'legal' method to transfer characters. One that is handled in the official forum making use of formal account services provided by CCP. Other than that I'd imagine that they act on it as forcefully as they do the botting and RMT issues.
