7 Days to die hate our server or the game not sure which.
Pretty new so maybe I haven't gotten the full feel for the game, so maybe there are points I'm missing.
Build a house, zombies come in and break it.
Live under ground, zombies don't detect you but start digging you out for the heck of it.
Spend all morning killing the zombies near your home, only have a few hours of light left, and a pack of 20 move in when it's pitch black out. Go and hide, and they don't detect you but still start digging you out.
Every where has zombies, every where. There's nothing safe. At least in the start of rust we had a group working together building a keeping a home safe far away from danger. Why build anything here? It's all easily broken into by players or zombies in the night that you don't stand a chance against. "Torches will slow them down" Well, hasn't worked once for me. They run hog wild no matter how bright I get it.SmokenScion liked this postDispatch the DooM

This is precisely the reason why I stopped as well. It's just not fun not having a single moment to plan out your next step. What's the point in building a structure if it doesn't provide adequate protection under ANY circumstances?
Here's an idea: limit the spawning mechanic. [Rough suggestions]
Every 24 hour cycle starting at the very beginning of night, a couple of zombies are added to each square in a grid setup on the map. If the players wish their lodgings to be secure through the day and night, they must clear out these additional zombies in the morning. These zombies will stay dead and will not respawn until the following night. Initially, a single square in the grid could be in an "overrun" state with multiple spawns present until the players come in. The players are then able to clear a square, and thus choose to control the subsequent spawns. This prevents players from being able to live peacefully away from zombies all the time, but at the same time making them a manageable threat that can be made to go away.
I don't think a system like this would do much to deteriorate the current survival system: you still have to scavenge for food, water, and ammunition (as well as craft), and zombies still remain a significant threat. But through effort, a relative safe-zone can be established in which steps looking towards the future, as well as making site defenses, can be made.

And that's why I'm waiting for other responses. Scion might not even be playing any more for all I know. And he was about the only one doing so. Think I saw krom connect once or twice...

I play on another server as the difficulty settings on ours is way to high, Also Custom recipes.
I second turning down hit damage from zombies, spawn rates and Night percentage.
I have some prefabs I'd like to load up, But I need you to Move the Save Game files to the 7 days folder (or at least a folder I have FTP access too)
I have been sick this past weekend, so It limited my play/comp time, but this week I'll load all that up. Which will make the game MUCH more Bearable.
also If we Should Lock up the Server and give out the password on the forums, Until the Server memory leak is worked out, IF our server even runs into that problem.
We should also hand out Admin Privileges to some folks IF we leave it unlocked that way the griefers will get their comeuppance.
My next question is Why didn't anyone Post that they got the game?
It's only been Soviet, Option, and allane, and I.Last edited by SmokenScion; 05-18-14 at 11:25 PM.

Re: 7 Days to die hate our server or the game not sure which.
What are our server rules?
I tried a SP game with very low spawns, seems like buildings still had concentration of zombies and the open had a few here and there. I didn't get a great deal play time with it. Night seems like an epic downer, all you can do is hide and craft. If zombies didn't run it would be worth risking a night raid. Still have the dogs and hornets to worry about.
Almost have sit down and ask what kinda zombie movie do we want to simulate?
Low spawn, Always run, 25% night for a more 28 Days later feel
Medium spawn, Never run, 50% Night for a Night of the living dead
I'm gonna mess around with the setting on a single player game for a bit to see if I can turn up something that feels balanced.Dispatch the DooM

you guy(s) decide... and let me know.
I'm leaving tomorrow morning for Mackinac Island (and whatever else strikes my fancy on the way there as I make a loop around Lake Michigan) and will be back on Friday... or saturday... or.... sooner or later.
