My little thread about how important TPG is to me.

Hey guys. The one and only Knee of Justice reporting in.

This is just my story about TPG and how the community affected me as a person. If it's TL; DR, the moral of the story is I love you all and I miss everyone.

TPG (Or TTP, as I knew it) helped me in so many ways. I was an awkward kid at school.. but not the shy or uncomfortable type, just an arrogant bastard. Those who know me would understand.

I got to playing video games on the computer. Started out with neopets and runescape, then WoW. I never liked MMOs that much.

Then I found team fortress 2. This was before hats were a thing. Way old school TF2. What a game, that was. I goofed around on that game for a while, and hopped around on servers until I found TTP.

They were different. People worked together here. I've never seen such teamwork, hospitality, and genuine kindness from any group before. They made me feel welcome from the very first minute.

Soon I got into the forums, clans, and L4D2. I became a regular member here, and it was at such an important time in my life (like ages 13-17). So this is really what the thread is about. I wanted to share some of my favorite moments and shout out to my homies who may or may not see this.

I remember priming TF2 servers.

I remember buying my reserve slot for TF2.

I remember l4d2 most of all. Best game ever when you get a community like ours together for it.

I remember joining some clans (HRD comes to mind) and forming my own clan.

I remember being bummed out when I couldn't get into NoM where all my friends we're.

I remember pissing everyone off on many separate occasions, gaining admin privileges, having admin privileges removed, being very close to banned, posting a tier list of everybody's perceived skill level and putting myself at the top, and annoying all my friends. I sincerely apologize for pulling stunts like that and ask forgiveness. My only excuse was beimg immature. I like to think that people generally liked me, though. Like deep down I was the lovable kid of the group. Maybe it's naive to think that.

I remember browsing TPG forums on the school computer, they had to ban it from the school's directory IIRC.

I remember taking l4d2 so seriously and having such a blast with you guys.

So just a shoutout to my homies now:

Thorsen- you were my first tpg friend and you stayed around for so long and suddenly vanished. It makes me sad that I'll never get to talk to you again and I wonder what you're doing now.

Blitz - the homie. You are such a cool dude, glad we're friends on Facebook because I would miss you too

Kanati - man, I always liked you. I'm sorry for all the childish shit I did. I know it really got on your nerves sometimes, but I still felt like we were friends. You always me the most sage advice and you were always a steady person to balance out my chaos. I guess that's why you're high admin now huh buddy? Very smart and solid guy.

Maximusboomus- yo, thanks for all the help teaching me how to use Photoshop! You disappeared kindof sooner than everyone else, where did you go?

Bobbarkerissatan- another person that just disappeared! Where did all my homies go!

Some more homies: bigtymer, MrWhite, wishbear, greeneyes, pimp trizkit, steggy, dawkins, vexon, sm0ke, ATEXANANDHISGUN, Iravedic, GOLGO, that Brazilian lady and her daughter we used to play with (Gatita?), savage, Cojiro (even though you didnt like me), THATriggerhappy, walkerxes, enf, morningfrost, mr_blonde_OPS of course.

honestly can't remember everyone right now but there was a solid group of like 50-100 l4d2 players I could invite to a game any time, every night. I will forever remember that time as best times of my life. Just know I love all you guys.

It's 3 AM so if I forgot anyone, I'm sorry. If you used to play with me, just know you are cherished in my memories and I am so happy and grateful for experiencing TPG in its prime.

I also want to apologize for being childish sometimes and I know that bothered a lot of peoend. Looking back on it, I did a lot of stupid stuff and I think a lot of people got really upset with me. I hope we were still friends.

So if there's anybody out there, what's up? What have you been up to? Like, keep in touch! I dont want all you awesome people to go away forever and let's make a resurgence sometime for l4d3 if it ever comes out. Hell, I'm still down for l4d2 if you give me some notice. Let's keep in touch.

Everyone acts in a regrettable manner at some point. I know I have both on and off of these forums. The important thing is to remember the lessons from those experiences. It's how we grow.

Lol, good shit man. I'm doing the same exact thing actually. 22 years old going back to college, looking to graduate at 25.

What happened to all the other TPGers?

What's your major? I'm doing Cybersecurity.

Some people are still here, but with the death of community servers (at least as far as TPG is concerned), most people shifted to meeting up in TS/Discord to coordinate. So, there's less of a need for admins. Plenty of other people had priority changes (work, kids, and general adulting).

I'm going for computer science for my degree. I'm not sure what direction I want to take that; I'm waiting till I get my teeth wet to make a narrower decision. The other stuff is a bit more private but generally relates to my gender and sexuality.

Cool, that's a really good career path. You might wanna look into Cybersecurity if that piques your interest, it's in high demand and the pay is good.

As for the personal stuff, that's none of my business but you should know I support you no matter what.

Who's this guy strollin up after idk 5 years... Ah I've also been MIA more often than not. RL and a shifting gaming environment took me away. L4D3 might bring people back but that will never happen.

We actually got in a couple rounds of L4D2 vs on Saturday. Maybe a few more people showing interest and we could make it a regular event.

And yeah, you could be annoying as shit, but I always knew you just wanted to be accepted. GGs, glad to hear from you.
Wish we could go back to Tf2 before all the hats. Miss those days.
