Re: Mario Galaxy 2 beat OoT?
I'll still defiantly buy it, but maybe I just don't see a good game as others see it. To me MG2 is like L4D2. Everything's better, but still the same concept. I loved the concept of MG. I thought it was a very unique way of playing Mario, but it had a lot of issues. There weren't a whole lot of fun extra stuff, most of the levels(for me) got repetitive, the controls were glitchy, and the story wasn't nearly as good as it could have been. I hear the story is still subpar, and the controls are still glitchy from the camera.
Playing OoT for the first time for me was an amazing adventure. It really set the stage for adventure epics. It had a very well written cinematic script, it had boss battle of epic proportions, lots of fairly challenging puzzles(not a whole lot, but enough), a new fighting system that I had never seen done before(it prbly had I was just unaware), and I really felt a connection with the character. It too had it's issues, but the main ones were the difficulty(some things were just too easy) and some control issues(based on the camera again).
From what I've seen, and I'm sure I'm wrong(but I don't get the feeling I'm that wrong), MG2 doesn't strike me as a game that deserves to be in the top 10 in comparison to games like OoT and HL2. I love Mario games, and I loved M64, but I just didn't feel it in MG like I did with M64(Nor did I feel it with sunshine).

I love OoT soooo much. I cant count how many times I played through the damn thing. Anyone ever read the conspiracy about actually obtaining the tri-force ingame and try them? I tried as many as I could find.
Anyone ever beat the running guy? Damn empona was just to slow.

Yeah...it's a pretty huge pain. The horse actually does work, but you have to make sure you don't run into anything or it'll rear back and knock a good five seconds off your time, screwing your chances of winning.
It's not quite as bad as trying to get the claymore, but the reward isn't nearly as good.

Re: Mario Galaxy 2 beat OoT?
Im curious how this game will affect the kids of today. I mean I thought I had it good playing mario 64 as a kid, but to be a kid playing galaxy 1 and 2 must be amazing. Im also curious how it will affect their brains - especially the 3D visualization. There are times when I play SMG and my brain doesn't hurt, but rather contorts or something. Like I cannot comprehend what just happened and I have to think about it more to understand. Navigating a 3D space such as SMG must have a lot of positive benefits to developing this skill. Anyways, Ive been playing on my friends wii, but I plan on buying a wii myself just so i can play smg 1 and 2 this summer while im at my internship. The game is super creative, even the early on levels.

Re: Mario Galaxy 2 beat OoT?
I'm in the final 30 stars of SMG2 and at this point it is one of those games that I won't play drunk (which says a lot about how much brainpower it requires). After a few beers last night I spent 2 minutes on it and just gave up and went for a different game. Especially in the hardest comet challenges it requires insane concentration and timing.

Re: Mario Galaxy 2 beat OoT?
People today just don't like anything but shooters these days.
I can definitely see why this game got the rating it did. Everything about the first one I liked with a bunch of throw back ideas like the slides from SM64 and the haunted houses. It is also less of a pain to get to each world since the spaceship wasn't much fun to explore until the castle in SM64, and now it is very straight forward. It is Super Mario Galaxy but better, and more difficult, good enough for a 10/10 rating for me.
