JRPGs (& localization woes)
I really love JRPGs, but I don't speak Japanese, which makes trying to play JRPGs frustrating. So many good games don't get localized into English.
Xenoblade Chronicles, which has been getting reviews saying it is one of the finest RPGs of this generation, won't ever be getting an American localization, which means if I want to play it, I'll have to import it and hack my Wii to remove region lock. (Supposedly amazing game! 92 on metacritic, and nearly every review I've read has praised it.)
Tales of Graces F and Tales of Xilia are already released in Japan(Graces has been out for years), but it is always a matter of luck which games Namco decides to localize because JRPGs don't sell well in the states...
Even if either of those Tales games are localized, the Japanese don't like the xbox 360, so I'd have to buy a PS3 just to play them as well, which is expensive.
*sigh* I need to learn Japanese because this lottery localization is so frustrating! I want to play those games!!

Well, what I used to do back in the day of the PS2 was to buy the Japanese and American versions. I would then take the menus and subtitles from the American one and combine them with the audio from the Japanese one. You needed a PS2 slim to do it legally though to avoid voiding the warranty. Playing Digital Devil Saga with Japanese voice acting and English subtitles/menus was pretty awesome.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
Bigdog-Sweet home Alabama you are an idiot.

Does Monster hunter tri count as a jrpg? I just bought it so if you have it Blah we should play even if that's not really the point of the thread
Me: "But the Gunslinger is so much more fun..."
Langrad: "We're here to win, not to..."
Me: "Have fun?" "Hahaha"
