Better FPS?
So in CSS you could downloads configs such as "caseys config" to get a big boost in FPS. Since CSGO has better graphics, it maybe difficult for some of us to get a decent FPS, my little brother is currently having this problem. Does anyone know of anyway to increase FPS in CSGO? He's currently getting around 20 fps...

Re: Better FPS?
Yea that's what I was thinking, but I remember I was getting around 25 fps on CSS with my laptop, downloaded caseys config and I was at 75-90. I'll upgrade his computer soon, but for the time being I wonder if there is anything that can help him get better frps, and yea he has the settings on low.

Yeah, this is going to come down to turning off a lot of the eye-candy. Documentation out there is somewhat sketchy atm. Don't know how accurate this list is but here is a start for commands

Re: Better FPS?
Unfortunately for your little brother A LOT of the commands used in caseys config are now blocked by CVAR in GO
My cousin(hazard) and myself have been messing around a lot since we have pretty much the same shitty laptop specs. Here's what helped us get an fps of 30-60
Launch Options -noforcemaccel -noforcemparms -refresh 60 -freq 60 -32bit -dxlevel 90 -high -w 640 -h 480 -bitrate 128
Using -bitrate 128 may cause a couple Internet spikes but it definitely boost FPS for some reason. The internet spikes were annoying me so I took it out but my cousin wasn't having any spikes.
For my cfg sadly the only thing that isn't blocked by CVAR that may improve fps is r_drawtracers_firstperson 0
Page Pool Memory in video settings should be turned to low for smoother game play.
Oh and the reason most commands are blocked by CVAR is because of "unfair advantages" give me a break...I guess these shitties with gaming computers were sick of getting owned by budget gamers.

Re: Better FPS?
Good post on tweaks, but I'll have to disagree with your last statement.
I tinkered around with a lot of settings in CSS regarding tweaks and found some of these blanket performance configs did provide unusual advantages when it came to intended visibility and mechanics of given map/game. It was all slowly patched out, with the last one being smokes. zBlock helped reduce this.
I know there are those budget gamers who need some shit turned off to help performance. But for every single one of those there are 5 others who do not need it, but utilize it to push a visibility advantage on other players.
