No Silencer for a Long Time

So I just heard from someone that is part of NetCode Illuminati, that is I believe helping with CSGO, that there is not going to be a silencer for any gun for a very long time. They are not putting any thought into the silencer situation at this moment so we will not be having a silencer in CSGO.

What is your opinion on this matter?

I really feel like they need to concentrate on fixing guns. Taking the silencer out of the game changed the game for me. I feel they really need to bring back the silencer because it was an important part of the game for many players. The M4 is bad enough already, in my opinion, and I think it would really benefit from having a silencer. I will always use the AK47 if I have a chance, but if they were to bring back the silencer I think I would use them more equally.

In addition to that, they need to lower the recoil on the m4. The AK is just plain better than it right now.
    We can do better.

Until we hear something straight from Valve, everything is hearsay. As far as I know, NetCode Illuminati has nothing to do with how CS:GO is being developed.

They along with several other top flight competitive teams have been working quite alot with valve in the testing and development. For sure I know that Complexity, Netcode illuminati, Team dynamic(volcano's team), and several pro euro teams had a ton of say on gun changes in the beta and were a large part of several of the wide sweeping changes in late beta(movement, alot of gun changes etc). The teams I named are just the source teams that I know of...I'm sure they invited top 1.6ers too.

Valve was taking alot of special input from the pros because league play is the only reason that 1.6 is still played...they want to draw the playerbase away from it(which they pretty much say outright in a bunch of pre-release videos/forum posts).

The m4 definitely needs a silencer to make it more even with the ak.

    Man that's a bummer.

It's a bit angering they're not even concerned about it. The silenced M4 is a staple of CS. As much as GO doesn't feel like CS already it's one of the biggest things that prevents the game from moving towards that.

Definitely agreed. I drop my M4 for an AK every chance that I get and that's one of the primary reasons.

That may be, but it's still hearsay. I2EC0N didn't even post a link. He just stated it. CS without silencers would be like HL with no crowbar.

HPE isn't even working on CS:GO anymore, Valve has full control of the game now, and what will be added.

Small Q.A with DevGamer about CS:GO - Steam Users' Forums

I heard on a live stream from jKa of Netcode, and Cassy Foster was on it and that is where I heard it. can no longer find the live stream because YouTube is gay as balls. But I just heard this. Im really hoping that it is not true because I really want a silencer in the damn game!
