Re: Question about gameplay in server?
i'm sorry i have no idea where to put this and i don't want to create a new thread b/c it surely doesn't warrant it but
i stopped playing (won't say "retired" cuz i was never competitive) like a year ago
and then did a frantic search for tpg servers
got confused when i couldn't find them
came here
saw the switch to GO
shed a tear. that is all. i guess i have to buy GO for pub teamplay nowvicissitudes [ben]...cs:go

For what it's worth, we didn't just switch to GO. We kept the CS:S servers up for awhile...CS:S is pretty much dead in North America, so we couldn't get anything resembling respectable numbers in the servers. A couple of us tried to keep it full pretty religiously with no luck. They were finally shut down towards the beginning of the year.

Re: Question about gameplay in server?
AHH I see. I would have been one of those trying to keep it full religiously lol. Oh well. Wifey got pregnant...twice. But I got some time to be a 'teamplayer' again.
I heard it's frustrating to learn GO but I think my computer might be able to handle the game so I guess it's time to learn.
I thought overall the populations are about equal (source pop vs go pop that is) still...am I way wrong?vicissitudes [ben]...cs:go

Re: Question about gameplay in server?
Even though we're way off topic, if you give GO a chance you can try the Famas and Galil before you switch to Colt and AK. I found it was easier for me to make the transition that way because they are a little more forgiving with the movement + shooting.

Yes, but just like 1.6 before it, the majority of source players are in Europe and Asia now. The competitive scene moved to GO, so that's where most of the people went. From what I've been able to see, gun game, zombie mod, RPG servers, and the Noob whatever servers are all that's full.

Re: Question about gameplay in server?
thank you, both - i'll heed the tips. i started playing last night and got hooked. too bad tpg server was empty but i understand it (late late sunday night/mornday morning)
i dunno why i thought my rig wouldn't handle it but it handles it nicely. 8 gigs of ram and i7 processor should have tipped me offvicissitudes [ben]...cs:go
