Thread: First time player. Banned - Here's my story... =(

So I never pub... I don't care for the confused players, no one knowing what's going on, etc...

Tonight, I had 20 minutes before I could play matchmaking so I figured I'd pub. I saw the server name and the ping was in the low 20's so it seemed like a good fit!

I load up the server and it's on my favorite map.. Mirage. AWESOME!

Immediately I can tell that people are calling stuff out, more focused, playing for the objectives, etc. and I'm excited.

We end up losing, (we were money f'ked from the moment I joined to the end of the game) and the server switches to Nuke.

Great! Fresh start, good map, I even tell myself I'll go terrorist first to help balance the teams!

I join terrorist, and the iRaveDic0 calls out a strat, "Rush outside, some delay lobby and we'll push upper." We lose pistol, but so far so good.

2nd round, I can't hear because too many people are talking (I'm big on sound..).

So I put voice_scale at 0. I see players running outside so, I figure it's another split upper. I take my galil, jump up on roof, make the marshmellow jump first try, pick one guy outside, then smoke off outside. At this point I notice I'm the last guy alive. Not because I'm camping, or playing slow, but because I'm the only guy who survived for more than 30 seconds.

As I jump onto the connector, I get slayed and the warning shows up, "FOLLOW STRATS, COMPLETE OBJECTIVES."

I'm confused as I just got slayed 2nd round, for not running out and dying immediately with a pistol....

I turn voice scale back on, and i'll be the first one to admit I have a temper, ask iRaveDic0 WTF?! He tells me to follow the strats or get slayed.

I'm not an idiot... I've been playing CS since 1.2. I know the objective, I can run most maps blind, and I know how to play this game. If you want 15 people to rush outside, get bottle-necked, and picked off because every shot hits someone, more power too you, but you shouldn't abandon the backside, and you shouldn't send so many players that you run into each other.

I ask why he gets to call strats. He replies, "I called it first, you can call next round." Next round I call for everyone to chill lobby and wait for pushes, we'll take upper at 1 minute. The team obliges and we kill quite a few CTs on a save round.

The following round, I again call and suggest we rush upper through squeeky.

Round #7 I suggest we rush upper and have 4 stay back (last 4 into lobby) to watch the flank from ramp.

Now... Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe what you want is a rushing only server. Maybe you guys only want people who die before the admins so they don't have to wait.

From what I can tell, you DON'T want people playing competitively, smart or patiently. You DON'T want people supporting the team from alternate positions, and god forbid you're the last one alive, cause if that's the case and there's an admin on your team? SLAYED.

I'm disappointed to be very honest. I thought I finally found a competitive based group of individuals on a CS:GO public server.

I'm disappointed I got banned for this by someone who could visibly see my score was probably right around 1,000 and rather than inform and educate he jumped straight to banning.

Regardless, I wanted to share my two cents that there's a large difference between camping, being clueless, and playing counter-strike competitively and smart. I've also seen many great CS communities killed by an overzealous admin who rather than discuss the problem bans or abuses their power too quickly, be careful side of that line you follow.

I'd ask to be unbanned, but from what I can tell iRaveDic0 is a pretty influential member here so I assume it's a lost cause.
