    Re: Willing to prime?

Given that your post was 2 hours after Civil told everyone to calm their tits... I'm debating whether you should have a vacation or not Blonde. Obviously you saw his post. So that must mean that you are just outright ignoring a high admin and moderator's orders. Explain to me why you shouldn't take a break.

Krakkens and shit. stop tempting them.

See you in 3 days Blonde, and Guyver, you might want to pretend this topic doesn't exist because even your ... doesn't amuse me at this point. Tread lightly.

As I told Kanati, the "..." was an edit.

My guess is your pre-edit is likely something that would have made me want to temp ban you more than I do now, but luckily for you nobody else saw it before you edited it. And as I have now told you 3 times don't reply here again unless it is about your plans to prime unless you too would like a vacation. Was I clear enough this time? You not responding would count as a yes.

    Re: Willing to prime?

I have seeded and am willing to do so in the future.

To all those dejected CSS'ers I'll say that it does get better. It's probably the hardest change in any of the many versions of CS to date, once you get used to it, it does start to feel like the game that you've always loved/hated. It took me about a month of really hating it before I started to get back into it and feel some love again.

Also, It would be cool if we could get all the reg's to use the steam group:
    Steam Community :: Group :: TeamPlayerGaming CS:GO

sending out announcements and invites when seeding would help to get more of us in the server and it seems that having 4 or 5 tpgers on each side is kind of a critical mass to get things going well; the randoms dont seem to stick around unless there's a good core of leaders on each team.

Lastly, I've got some suggestions to increase the popularity. I don't know if it's too far off topic or not, I apologize if it is.
    - Turn on force 1st person spec and limit it to your team, but also turn on death chat (just like in MM). Force people to use voice for relevant communication only.
    - I know that it's much more expensive, but I think that a 128tic server would also be much more popular amongst our target demographic. Is it something that we could try even if it was just for 1 month? I think having 128tic in the name for when people are browsing pubs would bring a lot more new people in.
    - There MUST be a strong leadership presence so that the T's always have someone making calls and someone is also keeping the CT's accountable for helping eachother out, covering sites, making attempts. One of the things that instantly got my attention on TPG was the 0 tolerance or "sucka free" admin approach. My 1st time on the server I got slayed as a WARNING for not following a call. I understand that the admins are trying to be kinder and gentler to avoid scaring off the newbies, but I think that this is the wrong approach. There are 10's of 1,000s of servers out there for people who don't like the TPG rules / style of play and we shouldn't try to compete with them. TPG needs to be different.
Being tolerant of idiots and assholes will only drive off the regs and then the newbs will leave as soon as there 5min attention span runs out or their moms tell them to do their HW.
Bring back the Ban-Hammer and make sure that there is someone wielding it every time the server is seeded.

    Re: Willing to prime?

It sounds like you're asking for death chat to be turned on where live teammates can hear you. I say this because, I've seen a lot of new people in the server trying to tell live teammates where the enemy is. Then, we have to tell them that they can't hear you...then, they reply "Oh, sorry I'm used to competitive."

    That would constitute ghosting.

If that not what you meant, then I stand corrected.

I'd support 128 tic, but to make it worthwhile, the highs would probably have to see a huge increase in traffic, and as it stands, we aren't even getting enough with 64 tic.

As for the ban hammer, I'm not on all the time, but just the other day two guys were banned on Nuke...one guy didn't even have time to finish his sentence of "Don't tell me where to go, I'll go were I..." before he was axed.

If no admins are on, get their ID and post it in the problem player topic.

    Re: Willing to prime?

IMO the current biggest competition to TPG pub is MM. I really like the 15/15 swap that forces everyone to play both sides just like in MM, but as you mentioned the current voice / spec config is confusing to people. It gets brought up at least 2-3x per map.
So, yeah, I'm suggesting it be setup just like MM spec and voice. That's what people are used to now with the popularity of MM. It's not ghosting, it's exactly how competitive CS has worked since CAL. A few seconds of fixed death cam, then force 1st person spec to team and open mics.

I actually think that the way things are now is more problematic for ghosting because free spec is on and anyone with mumble or TS can easily ghost. Even if they're not reporting to living teammates, just being able to see where / how the other team plays is a huge advantage.

I have also seen some really good admin action recently on the server, but I've seen absent or permissive admins much more. I understand that we can try to police on our own and report problem players after the fact, but that really only works if the problem players are members of this community. Reporting after the fact doesn't do much for all of the problem rando's that just stumble in. If we wait till after the server is empty and they've moved on to annoy someone else, then the damage is already done.
If the server is really, really popular, then people might hang around even if there are some problem players on, but as it is, I think most people aren't going to waste their time when they could easily just go play MM or elsewhere instead.
If admins / leadership is going to ask the community for help in restoring TPG's tarnished CS reputation, then they need to give 110% and make sure that they are actively participating and on the servers as well.

As for the 128tic suggestion, I understand that it would have to be a part of a much bigger initiative to reinvigorate the server / community. As it is, I feel like it's on artificial life support and is close to having the plug pulled all together. If there's hope for it, it needs something pretty dramatic:
-Daily seeding w/ invites spammed and events started via the steam group
    - MM-like round, voice and spec settings
    - Leaders / people with mics making calls on both sides
    - Active old school style admins supporting the community, laying down the law where needed, and balancing teams etc.
-Top of the line server with great ping and high tic that reflects the premium status of TPG CS

If we try all that for a month and it doesn't work, then I think we can let it die free of guilt knowing that we did everything that we could and it just was at the end of it's time. But if we just stick to half measures of a few regs hopping on for 30min here and there and maybe an admin shows up, then I think we might as well call it dead now and not waste any more time / money.

    Re: Willing to prime?

I'm very willing to prime. We need to be more stern in the servers as admins. That's what brought most of us to TPG.

I have experienced the same as Abitar, I send an invite and asked if MM or TPG. It will pass but we need to stay on top of maintaining the servers if we want to populate it. As of late our guys are doing a great job doing so.
