Thread: MatchMaking is HERE!!!

We are trying to make TeamSpeak a common factor with MM so if you don't have it go install it now. You can find all the necessary information on the group page. If you have other friends who enjoy teamplay as much as we do be sure to invite them to the group.

To add to this we are also using the group to prime the pub server as well, so get in and get it going. Some of the guys have been, and will continue to, put in the time to prime, so help them out.

AWESOME! I love matchmaking. My internet is shite at the moment, but I'm moving into my new place in 2 weeks and will have killer internet and would definitely be down to join some TPGers for MM. (If you'll have me lol)

We are starting to see a tiny revival of TPGers playing CS:GO. Whether they be playing GunGame, MatchMaking, or the Operation Missions it doesn't matter. What matters is that people are starting to enjoy the game again. It's a lot easier to prime our server when there are willing regulars already playing instead of pulling teeth and nails to get people to hop on.

I really would like players to start using our Steam Group which is linked in the OP of this thread. Use it to prime the pub server, start a MatchMaking lobby, and most importantly invite people to this group who you randomly meet that have the same desire for teamplay that we all have.

I personally am going to try to start using the group to create MM lobbies more often. I think that we can create something similar to the L4D2 lobby style where we have a large pool of players to invite from. People not making the lobby in time before it fills is inevitable. So what do you do then? Man up, create your own lobby, post for players, or wait till you get another invite. That's just gaming and we can't create drama because of it.

Salty made a great post recently talking about having to adapt. CS:GO is the same Counter-Strike we've always known, but it's different in the sense that there are more new options for a player to choose from when playing the game.

A suggestion..

try to organize a specific night when we prime as opposed to general "lets all try and prime the server". Giving people a heads up.. readying them up.. you'll get a bang for buck.. won't have to sit around for hours waiting.. and know what you're dealing with pretty quick.

Why not start with a TPG CSGO revival night?> pick it announce it.. rally all troops.. we will all hit the server.. get some success.. ................. try and repeat.. my experience with priming is without success people lose faith... lets orchestrate a win and build from there!?!

If this thread is only about mm than forgive me, I mean this more for filling the TPG server.

Discussion has been had about retiring the CSGO server and we need to stand up and fight/use it if we want it to exist.

This wasnt meant for only Match Making, but we need to realize MM is here to stay. The pub server is going to have to live hand in hand.

This is really up to the people who play the game regularly. Ask anyone who has started playing again recently, what is easier hopping in the pub server and priming or joining an MM lobby?

People are coming back to CS because the word is spreading about MM. What this means to me is that soon we'll have a large enough "regular" population that priming the TPG server will take minutes rather than hours. The worst thing we can do is force people to play. It has to be their own choice instead of us force feeding them the pub server.

The other problem is I dont think many of the TPG regulars I now see playing CS again check the forums anymore.

It seems to me that people play casual to warm up before matchmaking, when they don't have people to queue with, or when they are waiting for people's games to end.

I think most people would rather hop onto TPG then into casual but the problem is people are all on at different times and their goal for the most part is to get into matchmaking. I think the steam group is probably the best bet as for getting the server primed. I guess we'll just have to start trying different times and see what works. I doubt we'll get a full server the first time but who knows, maybe we'll get lucky, a bunch of people will be online and join, and everyone will get hooked again
