It just didn't.
I was with you many times when the rules weren't enforced, but that's because there were no admins on to do anything. They were in other games, or ofline. Admins can't be on 24/7..sucks, but it is what it is. People chose MM because it's easier. To me, 5v5 is boring. The ranking system is meaningless, because it's nothing more than a glorified GameMe or Psychostat clone. CS:GO shouldn't have died here, I'm sure there are many other community servers still kicking. Same with TF2, dead here..but, continues to be one of Valve's most popular games.

DoTa II had a hand in this, too.

    Re: End of an Era?

Honestly it seems like the only popular game at TPG is battlefield. I never see anyone on CS:GO or TF2. ArmA I may see 2-4 or so people every so often. I'm all about variety here, but why not focus on what's popular and make it even better. I bet if we offered prizes and ran events on TPG battlefield server we could get the player count to have a legitimate second server. If those folks come to the forums, and become regulars we may be able to branch out again into other games. Whatever those games may be. Just my 2 cents on what's currently going on with this game and the others.

We've done some recent changes to ARMA 3 and we're now in the 90th percentile. I'm sure this will grow to a much higher percentile when we iron out some more activities. TPG-TeamPlayerGaming.com AiA Chernarus/Epoch(0.2.5.2)/Missions/ [arma3] ARMA 3

    Re: End of an Era?

I think the future of TPG with games like cs:go and overwatch (coming soon) will be with small teams instead of dedicated servers. Since it's hard to keep a dedicated server primed in a game with a built-in matchmaking system, we should re-evaluate our goals. Drop the server, and form teams with each other. We can all keep in touch and share stories and strategies on the forums. So it will be several small teams that all keep in touch with each other. We can do team battles against each other, or host tournaments.

I know it's a big change, but it's for the best. Instead of trying to fight the times, we should change with them. As a community, we should try to stay relevant together instead of clinging to outdated mediums.

I also think TPG should get into streaming on twitch. Twitch is the future of gaming, and we should get on board or stay left behind. If we spread awareness, it's not too hard to grow a successful twitch channel. We could host tournaments with commentary, and spread awareness of TPG at the same time (AND bring in more players). I'll personally help manage the twitch channel if we need someone to step up.

We need to change with the times, not fight them. Just my two cents, from someone who grew up with TPG and loves everything we stand for.

Agree with a lot of what Knee said. It's time to start re evaluating how we do things here.

    Re: End of an Era?

The CSGO community has done just as mentioned Knee,

Mostly through friends lists. I play almost all my CS with TPG'rs via matchmaking.

It's just tough to expand the network. If the extent of involvement between players is simply to be able to find people to play with then steam friends takes care of this. I don't see any motivators for people to be on the site talking about the game.

Streaming on the other hand. Absolutely. TPG's already set to host streams on its twitch account. If you want to stream to it you just need to post up on it and you can have access to the twitch account.

I think we could do a better job of getting the guys in the community that are streaming to do it through the TPG account instead of their personal one.

Can't you stream on your own channel but as part of a network? I see people like Sneaky, Krepo, and Meteos (LoL pros) streaming on their own channels but as part of the C9 network.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P

And users can host other channels now too.

    Yes you're correct
I will absolutely look into this, but I need to get a better computer first. I'd love to start streaming and hosting events for tpg.
