Re: What Makes TPG Counter-Strike so Special?
Is it time to pull the plug on the CS server? yes, most likely. It currently costs nothing to keep the server running so I don't see the rush.
We have 2 strong and growing communities. BF4 and ARMA left. I'd love to see us step up in the Evolve market considering we have the L4D forums pushed to our site, It gives us a better opportunity than anyone else to arrange a meeting/discussion point for players. Not sure how many TPG'r's are playing this game and the $70+ price tag is scaring alot of people off.
It's been mentioned that the OG's are moving on. Yes agree. But like any business, people retire and you replace them with new blood. Staying current with where the PC multi player gaming is happening is key. Let's keep our remaining communities robust and grow them. ARMA is just popping off now. As long as our box can manage the servers we need the CS server can just sit. But when we need those resources for other games it's gonna have to go. Priority for active servers that bring in new players over old/dead games servers that sit empty!!
People that enjoy playing in the TPG environment should seriously take a look at the 2 main games we host now. I've got 100's of CS GO tpgr's that need to take a look at the ARMA series. We've had quite a few come and check it out now and love it!
We need to maintain the communities we have by staying current/relevent and grow the emerging communities to bring the next wave of TPG'rs in the door.

So CSGO is no longer on TPG hardware? And costing money?
Prob best to take down asap. I see little no no chance of the server ever being used again. No-one wants to take the iniative to try at least a random prime night here or there.
I was under the assumption it was on our main box.

Let me correct a small error Ace. No one wants/can take the initiative "ANYMORE".
I mean I'm sure we all wish we could go back to being a teenager or college student to skip class and hanging out with friends to prime a video game server, but a lot of us have realized that this is the least of our life worries.

Its dead 95% the time I look at the forums. Use the money to do events for ARMA so that those guys can get some more players in there and hopefully here. Battlefield is doing great, but ARMA to me anyways looks like an untapped resource. Help those guys out who are pioneering another group of gamers and we might start to see an uptick. Just my thoughts on it.
