Re: Teamplay....
This post got derailed from teamwork to a bunch of people talking about servers. THIS ISN'T ABOUT YOUR STUPID SERVER. this is about teamwork. i didn't even care to read past page 2 because it got derailed by the second post. get your heads out of your ass guys and stop fighting over a server. people will play MM if they want to and people will prime the server if they want to. i looked at this post because i was interested in the teamwork that people in TeamPlayerGaming has though of and because it would be nice seeing any teamplayers that were around my rank and we could form a group to play with. i didn't know there was a TPG csgo group and i would of liked to known about it because i could post an announcement for a game "mg1 MM game need 3" or something like that and we could of all played and had fun. posted little videos of some sick teamwork plays we did in the game, or even just sick plays of something i did (there wouldn't be very many of those lol) I am honestly tired of a bunch of grump guys bickering about a server. This is TPG lets follow Blonde's first post and talk about teamplay. y'all a bunch of negative nancies.

Re: Teamplay....
Well since I was the second post that you say derailed things so badly... Allow me to retort. I personally don't give a damn about your little MM in the same way you don't give a damn about our little server. Some of us "grump guys" are trying to figure out ways to expand TPG instead of watching it die slowly. If that means questioning the use of a steam group that doesn't directly (or even indirectly for the most part) benefit TPG, yet still carries the NAME of TPG then that is what we are going to do.
You mention posting little videos of sick teamwork and such. If you mean doing so in the forum then that would be the FIRST argument I've heard for using the steam group as it stands. And that would be a good idea... IF it got used like that. I haven't seen that though despite many, according to Blonde and others, TPG people playing MM almost every day.
If those people that play MM could come to the forums once in a while that would be great. That would help immensely. But so far, that is not the case. We're just trying to figure out how to help TPG. So forgive me if I sound a little harsh at your righteous indignation at my "derailing" the thread.

Re: Teamplay....
Why would anyone want to post in the forums and deal with your bitchy attitude? honestly you and guyver are the reason i don't want to post in CSGO forums. I liked you back in the day kanati and i still do outside of the forums i bet you are a nice guy when you are in a game but in the forums you can be a real dick. Plus if you want to talk about things that don't help the server lets start with the forums because all we do is fight about stupid shit.

I really hate talking about this shit. You ever notice that the people posting here and now are the ones still committed to this community? Why am I getting bitched at for trying to help this community in ways I think would help? Then you come in, Kanati, and just stomp on it all like you know what works and what doesn't. What do you know works that I don't. Do you know what's popular in CS:GO? How could you, you don't even play the game.
Yes a full TPG CS:GO server would benefit the TPG forums. So would an active Steam group where players post for MM lobbies. You are arguing to support a server. I'm arguing to support a Steam Group. NEITHER have been backed by the TPG CS:GO community because we don't have a CS:GO community anymore. So why are we arguing? All those TPGers I have on my friends list who play CS:GO every night....don't come to these forums anymore. Technically I guess that makes them not even apart of this community anymore. We don't have anyone willing to support a server or steam group. Guch thought he could try with "a couple OGs".... Like I told him, not going to happen. I know, because WE TRIED.
Nothing last forever. BF2 didn't last. CS:S didn't last. DoD didn't last. Time to move on and wait for the next possible game and hope that it is a game that fits our niche for teamplay and we can administer it with admin tools. Hope that with the TPG regulars we have left, we can fill the server, populate it, and bring in new players who become addicted to our teamplay mentality. THEN, the most important, we fucking hire admins left and right. We force people to become apart of this community by making the admins and promoting our rules. We have become so afraid and anal about hiring "the most professional, mature admins". That's just my opinion and probably could be argued, but sometimes that's how I feel. I mean jesus this is a video game community. I was 21 or so when I was first an admin and I remembered getting my ass chewed out by Pimp for not following the chain of command for slaying in CS:S. I learned my lesson fast. We can't be afraid to train new admins even if they are kids. Why? Because they are the future. They are the ones with the unlimited time to play unlike most of us who have passed that time.Last edited by Mr_Blonde_OPS; 09-17-15 at 01:29 AM.

I actually thought the conversation was pretty civil given some of the other threads regarding this ongoing discussion, well until today at least. Things get heated because ultimately I think different TPGers legitimately have fundamentally different ideas than others on what works and what doesn't, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Major said he'd be willing to help revive the server and just like that, Kanati had a server up for us within 24 hours. It's not like TPG are opposed to new ideas, from my point of view TPG has almost always done what it could with the resources it had. Some things worked and some didn't. All it took was a couple of steam messages and War had a UT4 server up and it was rocking every night for at least a couple weeks. That type of quick response works well for games where we can actually do that and throw up a server, but what do you do when the game has an established community and isn't centered around servers? CSGO isn't the only game in this category. Dota and League are the same type of animal.
The common theme surrounding csgo is that we as a community need to "adapt" and "change with the times" yet with very little substance behind merely stating the obvious. I'm kind of riding the fence on this one; what does "adapt" even mean for TPG in a game like CSGO? Is it even possible to promote TPG in a game like CSGO nowadays? I think so.
A steam group? or TPG teams? okay, we already do that but it's not helping the community as a whole - at least not yet. The fact that the discussion is at least happening and that people are trying is a good thing. That comment about posting vids and forming MM groups through the steam group is a solid idea. If people start recording highlights, screenshots, forming lobbies, etc through the steam group that would be an excellent start. I'll even start doing that - if people see videos of TPGers tearing it up and how fun we can be, then maybe they'll stick around - it's always worked for us in the past
Looking now, the last time a post was made was in March and it was Blonde looking for a lobby. Good effort, but Blonde can't do it alone. Any of us who do play MM can at least make an effort to promote the group - I'm just as guilty as anyone, but I'll start doing this as well.

Nicky pretty much made my point. TPG for the most part is still stuck in the 2009 mindset that we have to host a server to bring people to the forums in order to have a community. Communities hosting game servers is going the way of the dodo, and community forums aren't far behind. We can either figure out how to take advantage of things like MM and MOBA style games, or all of our community is going to disappear.

Re: Teamplay....
The thing is, there's no way to take advantage of it. I said it before, MM won't bring people here. Why would it? The entire website is/has been dying or dead for a year or more.

Why would they come here? Come see our empty forums/community?
I'm not sure what the answer is, but it is not MM. The 8v8 would work, but people have to want to play.
Nothing lasts forever, that's right. When the shine wears off of MM...people will want to come back, but TPG won't be here.
