Yes and didn't it fail terribly. I think it was Condition Zero which was piss poor compared to 1.6 and source. Everything they stated should help them realize that they should stay with PC. Counter-Strike was the top online multiplayer game when it came out. In terms of competitive gaming it is probably one of the most popular. Why would they want to conform to CoD type play...money and everyone else is doing it? Stay true to your roots and the millions of followers you already have. Make everyone come to you instead of putting a shit version out there so run and gun 12 year olds can be satisfied.

Meh, I'm wholly unimpressed so far but its pre-beta so we'll see.
I have my fair share of concerns about how what apparently seems to be a console game built on the Source engine will port over to the PC.

Re: CS:GO (Global Operation)
True but these these(fps) are always designed with casual gaming in mind, just adopted to a competitive level.A competitive fps would be something like Quake 3,Tribes,Unreal,CS1.6,maybe CSS.True hardcore skill based games.Black Ops is a MLG game but is far from being the same league as th competitive shooters I listed. The most competitive console shooter I can think of is the SOCOM series and its a third person shooter who sold its soul with SOCOM 4 to be a yet another CoD clone.

Re: CS:GO (Global Operation)
I'm pretty juiced to see what this new CS will be like. No point in ripping on the weapons until we see how they make the game play out. I just hope it can be something I can actually get good at! The 5v5 aspect sounds cool, I wonder what the difference between that and their more casual play will be like, and how it affects game communities like TPG.
