Re: CS:GO (Global Operation)
One huge negative for me is the matchmaking, it's being forced on us because of the crossplatform play.
To get real communities going there needs to be a server browser and the option for more than 10 players.
One of the main reasons I continue to play PC games over the years is because I always play in the same servers with the same people. I know all of those people and they all work as a team. With matchmaking you get paired up with random people and teamwork is usually very minimal and it's just not near as fun.
I really hope Valve doesn't give us a console port with only matchmaking. If I wanted matchmaking I'd buy a console.

Re: CS:GO (Global Operation)
I read or heard somewhere that there will be a server browser with dedicated servers for the PC version, like in CSS.
I am actually really excited for the matchmaking. It isn't your standard 'throw random people into a game together'. Its an ELO-like ranking system that matches 5v5 teams together by skill. The way its been described, I feel like it will be more like finding a Starcraft 2 4v4 match with pre-arranged teams. If so, it would just replace having to find scrims on irc. Which would be awesome.Last edited by Madmax (Grape); 08-27-11 at 12:12 AM.
We can do better.

Re: CS:GO (Global Offensive)
Problem 1- The ak looks like they just imported l4d ak. The HE nade looks stupid since it is so small. The CT's m4 or whatever you may call it looks like cod's commando.
Problem 2- Valve said there will be no silencers for a secondary so that sucks ass. (May Change)
Problem 3- I can see the stun gun and even the molotov get banned from all competitive gameplay since they both seem overpowered unless Valve turns the damage on the weapons way down.
Upside 1- The maps may be the only thing they got running for this game since they made it more balanced for T's.
Upside 2- The graphics and models are really great looking.
Overall- They better pick their shit up in the coming months because so far it looks like a big fail to me.

Re: CS:GO (Global Operation)
Perhaps they'll add a burn kit to assist the Molotov victims. Like a defuse kit, 'cept both sides will have it in the buy menu.
The long-standing fire is the only major quirk that we'll have to overcome, however, it is starting to turn into a BF2/COD kinda a gig, I think.
