listen server
I used to be able to set up a listen server that allows me to play on the local machine. As far as I can remember the only things I needed to do were:
1) Set up port forwarding on my router to route port 27015 to the machine running CSS. Or set up a DMZ that routes all ports to that machine.
2) Load CSS and "Create Server"
3) Open the console and type "sv_lan 0"
This doesn't seem to be working anymore. Has anybody else gotten this configuration working?

Re: listen server
From my understanding the sv_lan var change will not take effect until you change the map (changelevel de_dust2). If that does not work you may want to describe the problem in more detail (eg players cannot see server, players cannot connect, receive error, etc).
I generally run into various quirky problems with listen servers and just use srcds instead.Last edited by GReYVee; 02-27-12 at 12:09 PM.

Re: listen server
@GreYVee, that was it exactly! Thank you. From the log below you can see nothing happens after "sv_lan 0". After "changelevel de_dust2" you can see it sets up the listen server.
] sv_lan 0
] changelevel de_dust2
---- Host_Changelevel ----
'listenserver.cfg' not present; not executing.
Counter-Strike: Source
Map: de_dust2
Players: 1 / 8
Build: 4833
Server Number: 5
No pure server whitelist. sv_pure = 0
