Picking up this game.
My name is Option hunter. I play primarily Battlefield. However, I have an interest in all games hosted by TPG, even if I've never played them. With that said, I am going to be learning this game. I would appreciate any and all help that any one of the CSS regulars can give me.
My Steam name is ::VTRX:: Aristocat. If you see me on the servers, help me. Teach me. I know the rules of the server well enough, so you can expect me to follow them. I just need help with everything else. I know nothing about this game, so I would like some people to teach me about it.Vexon liked this post

Listen at the beginning of every round for the call (the strategy for that round). Follow it. If you don't understand, ask.
Don't stop running on Rushes.
All the cool kids play the hard side of the map.enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
Bigdog-Sweet home Alabama you are an idiot.

Be very up front in the servers about being new. People will cut you some slack as long as they know you are just new and not stupid. As DJ said, listen for the call. If you don't get what people are calling something just follow the pack...I would probably tell the caller you are new at the beginning so he doesn't single you out for something specific.
Most spot names are pretty self explanatory...there are some odd ones.
Check out this thread and here are some overviews of most of the commonly played TPG maps with names for various spots. These are all overviews from my old main/invite teams...alot of the names on there are specific to my team at the time...however, almost all of the common spots are on there as well.
I would learn to make some buy binds...they aren't necessary but they make it much easier to grab your weapons at the beginning of the round. I'll post mine as an example...you can change the weapons or keys depending on what you prefer to use. Here is a guide on making binds.
bind "mwheelup" "use weapon_smokegrenade"
bind "mwheeldown" "use weapon_flashbang"
bind "4" "use weapon_hegrenade"
bind "mouse5" "+Voicerecord"
bind f1 "buy deagle"
bind f2 "buy mp5"
bind f3 "buy m4a1;buy ak47"
bind f4 "buy awp"
bind f5 "buy famas; buy galil"
bind f6 "buy vesthelm"
bind f7 "buy flashbang"
bind f8 "buy hegrenade"
bind f9 "buy smokegrenade"
bind f10 "buy defuser"
Lastly, here is a fairly lengthy thread(15 pages) with tips and tricks from many TPG regs.

@ White
Yeah, stopping in the middle of a rush kind of defeats the purpose of rushing.
@ Feelgood
Thanks. I appreciate it.
@ RAWR
Thanks for those. I'm reading through them right now.
@Vocal
I was actually just testing out different weapons when I was on a few minutes ago. Didn't try the P90, though.
