I would go more with, join the team that needs help. I keep fairly even join ratios(52T/45 CT/7spec) and I find it's better practice to join the team that needs more help. I'm not much of a fragger anymore, but I can get a team together working towards a goal, whether it's T or CT side.

Re: What is a "team player"?
The issue presents itself a lot when a new map loads and most of the skilled regs in the server pile onto CT side because the server has a lot of new players and they can't be bothered to help out on T. So it's a bunch of random chaos, slowplays or T getting butchered on a rush (because it's easy as hell to rack up kills on new players when T only has a couple regs on it). This has happened time and again. It's different if people join a server mid-map but I see the problem mostly on map change. It's 0-0 and skilled regs just auto assign or go CT side instead of going T by default or at least checking the team joins first.

Re: What is a "team player"?
A team-player is someone who works with his team to win.
Fuck your stats. - Amen brutha.
Don't be a bitch. - Hell yes.
Lead the rush. - Well not everyone can lead the rush at the same time. I'll take the moral of this point as don't wuss out in which case I defer to the prior point, don't be a bitch. :P
Defuse the bomb. - Only when it's in the best interest of the team.
Play your spawn position. - Mhmm.
Look at radar. - Thank you, my God no one can read the radar I swear.

Re: What is a "team player"?
I would like to state one last thing, from someone who has been on the servers since 2007, and only gotten in to the forums recently.
The problem players are not the ones who read this.... Most of us are preaching to the choir.
The problem players are the ones who play to personally win. Team players come to the teamplayer forums. Non-teamplayers stick to a personal win (a match better than their current kdr).
That being said, most of us end up arguing at each other over problems we know exist. We all have slightly different views of the issue that may exist here. I say that the issue may exist here because we all have different views of the severity of the issue. I think we can all see an issue on the servers, whether it be one player, or 5 players, it is AN ISSUE NONE THE LESS.
So, how do we move from here? One-by-one. Every teamplayer needs to take a stand for what you believe is right. However, NEVER interrupt teamplay (keep chatter away from the call time). Simply type "Slay", "Ban", "kick", "he was afk... so he didn't hear the call", "PUSH". If a server can connect on the level where everyone speaks their opinion, it's almost more of a democracy. People will know which players are not TPG material VERY quickly.
This is how things around here used to get done. People knew when a player talked back, it was "SUKKA FREE!" But the servers are different. Yes, there are better players now, but the connection of a "team" was very different.

Re: What is a "team player"?
Eh depends. If he just doesn't want to die then no. If he looks at the site and says no I really don't think I can take the site away from these people then yes cause that's an awp that can change the course of the next round. Just think of it as a bet. If a person with an awp decides to try to take a site then hes gambling near 5k of his team's cash plus whatever else hes got that he can take the site. A person who considers this and decides the round isn't worth most likely losing a valuable awp is a teamplayer, if this isn't the reason why he chose to save then he is not. Of course in a 10 person to a team server where no one really excels with the awp anyways then I suppose the awp isn't that valuable. :P

Re: What is a "team player"?
I completely understand awp hate. But, It indeed is a huge part of the game. I'd be thankful that the awp server allows just one per team. More of a problem in source though. It was a bit more balanced back in 1.6 etc picking and peeking awpers with rifles..
Some players are for sure great awpers, and they want to spend time with it and that is fine. As long as they make the right decisions.. I could give a fuck.
