First Experience on PC L4D
Well, I just bought the PC version of Left 4 Dead (I've owned the 360 version since release though) and it's just downloading. So I thought once I've played a full campaign I'd kind of say on how I feel about it.
So any cool (other than the obvious commands) console commands, custom maps/campaigns, skins, etc, I should know about? Perhaps, like Sean said, I'll wait till the SDK. Though I've found a map that is created after a street in Salmon Arm, British Columbia... an 8 hour drive from where I live!Originally Posted by David Lynch

I never played it on the console, but I own the PC version. I can't imagine playing this game on a console. While I don't mind FPS on console this is pretty fast paced, and I think mouse and keyboard allows the survivors easier controls to pick hunters out of the sky, more accurate aiming with the smoker and of course better jumps with the hunter. Other than that I can also assume more people on PC have mics but that is just a guess. What was your experience now that you have played both with some of this stuff I mentions like speed of controls?

I played the demo on 360 then bought the game for PC. I noticed a HUGE difference in game experience.
Valve is known for their PC games and they design their games with the PC controls and gameplay in mind. You'll find the accuracy and precision you get from the mouse far better, and depending on your system settings the graphics will be much improved too.
And without the SDK out yet, there isnt much custom content to really mention yet. Most everyone have just been playing game as is.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

You can redo the aura colors around items and your allies (Including a different one for boomer puke so they don't just turn orange whether they're puked or pounced) if you want. Other than that, I don't know of many PC specific optimisations to look at - just enjoy being able to look around really fast :P

True; which is weird though because a headset comes with the damn Xbox 360 >.>
Much different, however not as hard to get used to than I thought (even though I've played Half Life 2 and Counter Strike).
Since I'm using my laptop because I'm waiting to get mah new computer it's quite laggy, in fact unplayable. Since I have half a brain I decided to go down to the skybox (well, below the skybox so I don't fall and I die once I turned off noclip) and just screw around, because down there there is no lag. I just did some single-player infected and kept killling the survivors as a Tank... lol once they got incapped I spawned a Witch in front of themI found out it quite easier to throw and hit a survivor with a rock, maybe because they were bots I dunno.
Anyways, I'm thinking about finding a somewhat empty map and just screw around on that until I get my new computer in, and change my Steam nickname from time to time to Left 4 Dead references lol
By the way: Why can't I hear gun fire when I turn on thirdpersonshoulder? Does this happen to everyone?Originally Posted by David Lynch
