New maps?

So I have an idea for a mod that essentially creates a new difficulty for L4D (pseudo-realistic). Since I have no idea how to even begin, I figured I'd ask for any tutorials anyone could point me to. Google isn't being too helpful in this regard.

Basically I just need to know how to make a config file... and then if I can actually change some of the things I want to change.

What your going to need to do is,

Its its going to be config based find all the avalible cmds to you and change them

You could program this in which would require you to have some C++ knowledge to change the game,

Yay, an update...

I'm wondering if there is any way to change the following three things:

1. Witch behavior. Originally she attacked all the survivors until killed--or at least, that's what Valve planned. But now she limits her attacks. Is there any way to bring back the original behavior?

2. Common infected do damage based on difficulty level. Is there a console command for lowering or increasing the damage they do? I couldn't find one.

3. The same goes for SI. Is there some way to control the damage their scratches do, and the damage they do per second while pouncing/constricting someone?

Any help on these would be much, much appreciated.
