    Re: Regs and the tournament

Well if it had not taken 3 months to get this going it would be over by now. I do not have a problem making the month of Dec and first week of Jan bye weeks but hopefully the students can find 1.5 hours one time per week to play. As in the Thanks giving bye....if you can play then by all means schedule a match wheather it's that weeks match or not.

As some people might know if been having trouble with my left 4 dead on steam. now ive found a way to install from the disk. so to save people the time of searching for it i will post it here. courtersy of steam.

Using Steam launch options to install from disc

    1. Log in to Steam and click the My games tab.
    2. Right-click on the game, select Delete local content, and confirm.
    3. Insert the first disc into your computer.
    4. Close Steam (File > Exit).
    5. Go to the Start button and select Run (XP) or type Run in the Search box and choose Run from the list (Vista).
    6. In the Run window type:

    "C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -install E:

Replace E: with the CD/DVD drive you are installing from if is not correct.
Replace C:\Program Files\Steam if your Steam installation is not in the default location.
    7. Press OK. Your installation should continue from the disc.

There you go so if your stuck heres what you do. My little way of saying thanks to all the people that helped me out.

Unhappy Your solution to L4D not installing

yes i saw this it is great because it works, i found it on the steam support site, but after it installed it still wants to update.

Please can you tell me if it made it so it works and you can play the game.

because i don't want to download any updates i only want to play the game i got for christmas yesterday.

Please help me bypass the updating if you can and teach me how to be able to play it without any more hassles.

PS: i've got a DVD drive and i didn't install steam off the disc, for some reason the steam install file is not valid, i don't know if this is similar to you, instead i had to get it off of a game that was bundeled with a WORKING version of steam.

    please help me!

    thanks.
