CSS Still "The Game"
So since I've been so absorbed in other things and when gaming just CSS, just wondering if CSS is still the #1 first person shooter. I haven't played TF2, COD4, or BF2 yet and was wondering what some of the opinions were on those games. Are they worth buying? Does CSS still reign? Are there other games out there better? Not that I want to change just curious..

They are all different . . .
BF2/2142 is like an actual war with choppers/jets and tanks.
TF2 is very arcade like and is a nice break from all of the new realistic shooters
I haven't played COD4
And if you do pick up BF2, go after PR, a realistic teamplay mod . . .

Yeah, those are all really different games.
CoD4 imo is the weakest of all those titles, it's fun, but it's not as polished as those...
It all matters on what you want in a game- CS:S is definately worth buying, but so are the rest... tough to make a decision which is better.
As far as the most "fun" I've had with all games, it'd have to go to TF2... CS:S and BF2 were the most competitive.
And hey, there's always DoD:S.

To me, they're all fun in their own way.
CS is just the classic game that changed the way many FPS games were played/made at the time and will probably always be one of my favorites because it still remains to be one of the most unique games to date. No other game allows you to buy your own weapons/gear every round and you have to earn your money to get what you what, and plan what you want to do to get where you want to be (buying or not buying something one round to save for another round, planning on going in as a team and which direction, etc.).
DoD is a great game, one of the first online WWII type games I've played and I love it, but the fact is most of the maps are either capture the flag/points with a few (I can only thing of 2 that are destroy these objects), so to me that gets a little repetitive after awhile which is why I can only play so much of it for a certain period of time. Great game overall and vastly different from many games out there.
BF2, never played, but sounds an awful lot like 2142 (rather 2142 sounds a lot like BF2 since BF2 came first) and it's a great game with some sweet vehicles and nice weapons/classes. You have a wide variety of choices on what you want to do and how to play each map. The unlocks/awards in 2142 help keep the game more interesting although it is interesting enough even without the awards/unlocks, but it is motivation to keep you going. Titan mode in 2142 is a nice new concept that is pretty much capture the flag(aka silos) then assault the titan and destroy it from the inside.
Haven't played COD4 so I can't say anything about that.
TF2 is the newest and probably the one I enjoy most right now as it is a nice change of pace from all the other games out there. It is capture the flag as well, but the map layouts and the classes are what make this game so great. 9 different classes to choose from each with a limited arsenal with their own strengths and weaknesses. You really do have to work as a team otherwise you WILL fail, no question about it. You might be able to get lucky every now and then like any game, but it is much harder to do so because of the way the maps are set out and the way you have to do the objectives.
I love the way the map 2Fort works as you have to steal the enemies intel and return it to your own base on a fairly small map. I wish there were more maps like it, but there aren't at the moment.
