Ban Skiers (if it is possible and does make you go faster)

My view on this, is that you can ski down a slope like this in real life. Have you ever run down a hill? have you ever jumped while doing that? you fucking fly! As for being able to control it, check out parkour runners.

The only place I've seen it have a serious effect is Piranesi, from T spawn to B. The vast majority of the path is downhill. I saw one person use it, and he was in the site before I even crested the ramp (on CT side, going into B).

That one guy I saw was asked politely by the admin to stop, and he did. I've never seen it again, at least not to that effect. I'll try to find a vid of it on youtube tonight, or something.

So, as big said, I wouldn't worry about it too much. if you see it abused, demo and report. Just like every other punk we find on TTP property hacking.

I know how to use skiing effectively on every map, every map has some sort of incline somewhere, even little rails next to steps can be used, a little mound in the snow.

(I am not making this post to disagree with any game policies... just your understanding of real life physics - getting a bit off topic)

(1) Go find a 10 degree slope and sprint down it.

(2) Then do the same thing again, but jump and twitch from side to side every two seconds in the middle of your sprint.

I guarantee you'll not go faster in #2.

Game physics have never been real. An example is being able to change directions in midair during a jump, in a game. In real life you cannot do this unless you are carrying external propulsion.

then by all means, start beating the fastest people to choke points. I've played enough CSS to know skiing is not a problem. It's fun to show you know how (and dishonorable given it's pretty complex to do, and thus not a "normal" function of the game)....but the benefits are non-existent in nearly all settings.
