The uninstall and reinstall it? I mean how many of us had to go through that fun experience. I mean blaming the server for problems on your computer isnt right and trying to find ways to put off these problems isnt going to take care of the issue. Uninstall and reinstall CS:S, worst case scenario you backup all your data and favorite stuff. Pull out all your software discs and reformat your hard drive.

you're not blaming the server.....but like I told you, there are CS cvar's you can add to your config.cfg, which will block all downloads from the server. sounds, files, maybe even sprays.
search teh steam forum for this answer.....I know it's there, since valve intentionally released a patch to introduce this variable for people like you.
