Maybe replace the custom map CS server with one of this mod, when it finally comes out? Will it run mani, Will it be supported by P-Stats? Will it ever come out?

Hmm, i doubt it will come out, but we could replace it with a better mod. I dont know of any good mods that involve teamplay though.

That hurts right here Vajita *point to heart*

I know it goes TOTALLY against TTP style...but then again, so did GG :-P

how 'bout a WC3 server? something to go in to relieve stress...when you just need to relax and kill shit!

and since you're rewarded over time for playing more, it'll stay full more often than the 3rd server ever has....

Although I played a small bit of condition zero, mostly versus bots back in the days when I had GAY-O-L wireless dialup, I didn't get much 1.6 action. I don't think I will download such a mod, although it seems that many who yearn for 1.6 will finally be thrown a bone. If the competitive gaming leagues start supporting this mod, then it will be here to stay. I wouldn't want to have to relearn the guns, especially seeing as I've yet to master them in CS:S.

Thats probably the biggest point - for it to survive it needs to be supported by the leagues and it really depends on how devoted the developers are and how good the improvements in gameplay are. Most people who have played previous versions of counter strike agree that there are elements that should have been carried over(hit reg, recoil etc) and if these guys can bring those back along with the visual look of source then who knows. Counter strike used to be just a beta as well and we saw where that went. But seeing as how its been delayed for a while now, its hard to say how devoted they are or if it will live up to its expectations. When the new beta gets released I'm going to give it a try and see where it goes from there.

Overall the player models and hitboxes were much smaller and stayed tighter to the character in 1.6. Personally, I loved it. In fact, when source came out I very rarely played any regular CS:S games because it seemed so random at times, especially the headshots. I stayed with the mods like gungame zombie wc3 etc whenever I played source. That is, until I stumbled across TTP... Generally speaking, 1.6 is much less newbie friendly. There is a HUGE gap between the good players and the newer players... which could be considered a bad thing. Source is much easier to pick up and at least perform decent at.

If they can make this fly, you can bet your ass I'll be trying it.

Yeah the hitboxes have gotten better in source since it first came out but they are still to large and not as close the the models as I would like. I remember getting pwned in 1.6 for a long time until I got good at aiming and controlling the recoil. In source you are pretty much guaranteed HS if you spray long enough.

    Re: CS:S Promod

After checking out this guy's website, it seems he is in an uphill battle. People spam on the forums and generally just hate on what he is trying to do. Also, it doesn't look like he has found any sponsors yet. The screenshots look pretty sweet though. I wonder how long it will be until Promod becomes playable enough that it can be adopted by a league? My guess is at least another year.
