Is cheating in CSS rampant?

yes, some times players can see your shadows ans such and most srevers that say noob servers come on in are usually not full of new players lol..but like civil said you will get better if you look around each map on your own server and get the spots down....on the side there are many hings to help you get better like the muscle memory which i just picked up today pm me if you got questions

There are players out there that are simply so good at this game that the only way to verify that they do not have some form of "downloaded assistance" is to stand over there shoulder while they play. The players on that par tend not to pub at all so meeting one by random is extremly rare. In past LAN tournies I have seen such players where even though I am one of those "8+ year players" I would of not believed they were legit unless I could stand up and watch there screen.

I am saying this as a counter point to the topic, there are cheaters out there who have skill at passing there downloads off as natural talent, and then there are those who are simply good. The reason many of the regs spend there play time here is because we can pub here with out getting banned, we can play here and be confident that if someone is cheating they will be cheating some where else in short order.

The admins in this community are very good at sorting out who is good and who is cheating, there are very few examples of players getting banned who are legit and no examples of those who arent staying for long. If you want to play this game because you would like to get better at it and want to explore competitive play this is a second to none place to get some practice.

I used to play on this sever in 1.6 that had some of the first anti-cheat software on it. It would pop up with a message on everyone screen telling everyone what cheat had been detected and that they would be banned in so many seconds giving everyone time to berate them before it would kick and then play a clip from Another One Bites the Dust by Queen.

haha that sounds like some of the UT2k4 servers i once played in. The anticheat program would announce that it had detected the hack... then it would pop up in god chat some funny message embarrassing the player.... and ban them.. but you would have time to get at least one good sentence in telling them off.

If you're new to a game then it will seem that everyone is cheating. Generally you can tell if a player is hacking if they have a shaky screen (aimbot) or wall hacks.

CS was very for me to get used to, im still getting used to it. But to me i can usually tell when someone is cheating. And on TTP the admin will take care of it. So no worries.
