Has anyone heard about the CERN Collider?

What are they planning on doing with it? learning about the creation of the universe? or creating the end of the world? I'd like to hear what you think because this is extremely off putting. why would you even tamper with this? some scientists are saying this machine will do no harm to the world, others say it's going to destroy it in 50 months. I wanna hear what you fellas think.

There is a lot of discussion about this in the "off the servers" forum. I think it is entitled: "2 more month of TF2 then ..." something like that.

The larger body of scientists believe there is no harm to be done, the people worried mainly seem to be doomsayers and fringe scientists.

I am in strong support of it, by "tampering" with the high energy particle physics that may explain the formation of reality, we have a lot of knowledge to garner, and can be propelled forward.
