Re: Saving versus Defusing the Bomb
Ok, so you save to the next round, even though it WAS possible (although you didn't try) to win the previous round. So now your sitting in spawn with your M4, you run to Long A and get headshotted. How did that help your team? Or lets say you took out 5 guys at Long A and even win that round. But now your ignoring the fact that you DIDN'T try to win the previous round. Am I right? You can look at it any way you want, but the fact is rules are rules plan and simple.
Recap.. By "saving" your gun for the next round, not only have you sold out your team (aka your team died in vain), you have also NOT gone for the objective.

Re: Saving versus Defusing the Bomb
Bottom line...attempt the defuse if you have time or not...simple as that

Re: Saving versus Defusing the Bomb
There's a mantra here at TTP that pretty much sums out our gaming philosophy.
Go for the objective or die trying.
There are no other options. I don't think there needs to be a discussion about this, you're wasting your breath.

My hair is a bird...
I know what you think, but go for it or die. If you try to take some with you do it.

I'm just trying to use logic. I play competitively and know that when there is next to no chance of having at winning a round, you save your gun instead of committing suicide by running into site.

Actually I have a better way to sum this up for you. You get to keep your gun, and yeah those 6 guys you didn't even try to kill get to keep their guns too. You might as well attempt to take 2-3 of them with you (3 guns lost compared to 1) to take their money supply out in the long run of the game.

Re: Saving versus Defusing the Bomb
Phidan they have strict rules. So just give up on the fact that they won't bend to your logic.
Meanwhile, I agree with you. There are not many players that can judge situations well and pull statistics out and know when and when not to attempt to defuse a bomb under impossible circumstances. In TTP it is very rare that players would know when to do that, because in most cases, like fly said, it is a feasible mission.
In the situation your explaining, you are right; regardless of what they say, SITUATIONAL wise, but ALSO regardless[ heh double regardless ] it is their server and they laid down the rules and they are gonna stay. SO in conclusion, they are right as well. Haha confusing i know.
Anywho i understand what your saying and it happens all the time in scrims, people save that awp or that rifle because moneys down and they need that gun, and the bomb is close to blowin and people got a sharp eye on it. I completely agree with the situation you've laid down with the time at 15, people in pit, and things like that. I just wanted you to know that =]
Also i hope my agreement makes you a little bit more satisfied. I played a couple seasons of CAL and scrimmed every single day for 3 years instead of pubbing. You have a strong logical standpoint.
ALSO~
Kelderos, that wouldn't make a difference. Winning team momentum of cash overflow + bomb/won round = nullified. The losing team needs the money more. Its a simple matter of weights.
