Re: Idea - feedback plz
There would have to be multiple ways to get to/open the bombsites. If it were one switch that had to be hit, cts would rush that every round as it is one place the t's would HAVE to go. I don't know how it could be executed, but what it the bomb were to spawn in one of a few different spawn points around the map each round, so that t's would have to pick up the bomb, then go plant it.

Just put the switches closer to T spawn than CT spawn and you should be golden. :4
will that even it out for the Ts at all?[quote author=...bigdog... link=topic=81507.msg1197022#msg1197022 date=1268327193]

Either way, I will set up multiple versions tonight so I don't have to change map layouts to test this... just move the buttons and triggers around.
Once I have enough done, I'll post up some screenies, and prolly set it up on my team's match server to test. Keep you guys posted
And if anyone can think of something not already covered, please speak up!

You could even have the switches work more than once... Like resetting it the 2nd time it is used.. so if the T's take the switch, and open up the bomb site... but then the CT's surge back and flip the switch, the doors shut again... that could be an interesting object

As said before, this could work well depending on placement.
One thing to definitely consider, is either making these non-toggle (ie you cant open and close just open) - or make a good delay between toggles. (ie after switch is hit it cannot be hit again for 5 seconds) Reason for this is just to avoid abuse, since you are essentially opening a door without being where the door is at.
I like how this promotes coordination. when mapping I considered having some elevator or doors only activated if both switches are pressed together (requiring 3 ppl, 2 to switch +1 to actually use it). Sorta follows along the lines of boosting.

@wishbear & greyvee - Yeah having the switches toggle would be neat... would be easy to set a delay, and then just map in some lights that count down to when the switch can be hit again or something.
I would be reluctant to place 2 person switches or objectives, just because that might break the flow of the game a little too much, especially if it comes down to only 1 person. On the other hand, if you are by yourself or whatever, probably you arent worrying about a secondary objective anymore...
Well, at the very least, I figured out how I want to implement something like this as a basic test, without redesigning the flow of my map. Instead I'm going to set up some vents that would make it much much easier for terrorists to get to bomb sites, only the vents have a fan that spins preventing movement in the vent, until a switch has been hit.
I think this will be the best way to make an easy test. Making it so that terrorists do not have to hit it, but it would make bomb site takes easier. And in that case, I would have to position the switch more on the CT side, so it doesn't unbalance the map.
Should have some media posted by this evening for you guys to check out :9
