To silence or not to silence?

Do you silence the M4 or don't you? I'm convinced it's more a personal preference than anything else. Me = silenced all the time

So how about you: silenced or not silenced? And why? Discuss

No silencer for me...I know it's just aesthetics, but it feels like it's more accurate and does more damage when it's not silenced.

From what I have read, when its silenced, you do less damage, but your shots are more accurate. Not silenced, you do more damage and burst better. Id wait for an old CS vet to confirm that though.

I prefer silenced.

I think this is how it is, however correct me if I'm wrong:

Unsilenced
+ More accurate first shot
+ More damage (slightly)
- worse spray 'accuracy'

Silenced
+ stealthy
+ better spray 'accuracy'
- guns sticks through certain objects/walls and around corners more
- slightly less damage

Personally, I always go silenced because 1) I like to spray (although it could be that I'm just use to silenced), and 2) Killing 5 guys because they don't know where I am is awesome. But I am always conscious of my barrel sticking out.
In fact, I use silenced so much that the unsilenced m4 might as well be a different gun for me because I suck with it. Maybe its all in my head though.. (the voices! stop the voices!)

It depends for me, i used to go silence all the time but when i started going non silencer i did alot better i think its just how you think about it.

I thought the m4 was viewed as having the silencer on whether you had it on or not....

most of this stuff is mind over matter, you adjust differently by what you hear and see...

I think it's totally mental, I've used it with and without quite a bit and I saw no noticeable difference between the two.

Pretty much sums it up.

I go unsilenced whenever I can. Only use the silencer when Im trying to be sneaky or dont want to give away my position. Other than that, its silenced most of the time.
