How many 24/7 pira servers do you see.

Ours? I have not seen any other one. If we are trying to keep the server populated, then trash Pira and add a more popular map. Because I watch pira kill the server at LEAST 1 time a day.

    just my 2 cents.
What map did you have in mind? As far as popular maps at TTP, top three are D2, pira, and inferno in that order. (This by number of kils, which should be a direct correlation to time played). Office is a popular map as a deathmatch. Not much teamplay involved (I believe this was discussed when the 24/7 server was made). So, I agree its not the best map around, but it is popular and fairly well balanced (which is why I wouldn't want to see inferno on there).

Do what we did with tf2, cp maps are the most often played in competitive tf2. Whatever the most played css maps are, use them and make them the server rotation.

After all, we want team players don't we? Why not play the maps the competitive crowd uses?

I blame the players, not the game. I think somewhat of the same could be said for cod4, the game was designed to be a lot more fun than it is. But people are cheap in it be cause they can be.

I totally agree. Everytime one of those maps comes up, there is always somebody rocking the vote because they don;t know their way around a map. I love playing in a new map, maps are the only thing that changes in a game this far along in its lifespan, because the gameplay isn't going to change. I hate playing in a map like D2 where everyone knows every single thing about it, and I know much less than them. It is much more fun to play on a map like tuscan where I know just as much as the guy the rest.

You guys can continue to support it all you want, but it's going to be a very long shot at gathering the support needed for a competitive only maps server.
I think the reason this isn't seen as much in TF2 is the way it is balanced. There isn't really an uberleet class in TF2. Every class has a weakness. In CSS, its possible for one player to completely wreck an entire team by himself. Its a lot easier to stroke an epeen in CSS. There are clearly superior weapons with much less of a weakness. Just a thought (and not much TF2 experience).

I agree that people can be afraid of learning a new map and perhaps rtv before they even give it a chance, but saying that you don't like D2 because other people know it better is exactly the same excuse that these players use for rocking the vote on a map like Strike or Season.

Imagine this scenario -- A relatively new player with about one year of experience is playing his fourth or fifth round on Strike. On the other team, there is a 6 year competitive veteran that knows the map inside out and quickly racks up a score of 20-2. The new player has a score of 1-10 and RTV's. Can you blame the guy? No he's getting his ass raped. On the other hand, I've seen some of our experienced players ragequit and leave the server because they aren't happy with their 3:2 kdr.

My point, learning a new map is a painful experience that most people won't put up with when they can easily leave the server and do well somewhere else.
    I miss you guys....-tczyl2-png
