my noobie tips
1. footsteps
2. gun sounds
3. where sounds are generally coming from
4. RADAR
5. common sense (ask yourself what would you do if you were on the opposing team)
my aim sucks but i'm aware of my surroundings and my reaction time (on a good day) helps me a lot
few more tips...
during slow play or ct side i always notice 5 people watching the same spot leaving only 1 or no one watching others. call which spot you are watching and what you see or ask what the teammate next to you is watching so you aren't watching the same spot
low hp? lead the rush when overtaking a site (see next tip below)
after a teammate dies, you should be able to instantly kill the person that killed your teammate
push together (more vs less = better chance of winning)
on d2 tside from long a, cross ctspawn together and not 1 by 1 (crossing 1 by 1 only helps the awper in ct spawn get a higher kpd)
MOST IMPORTANTLY
:10 dance like no one is watchingsu-san

Re: A Few Quick Tips
a lot of CSS tips can be condensed into the words common sense... people just don't think... you run right past a corner without checking it, and then half the team is dead. I remember the server was full one day, and had many many regulars on it, so if you were there feel free to say so, i don't have photographic memory. But I said check corners, and some people rushed into B on cbble and didn't check the corner to the left and he smoked 4 people. Same instance happened at Long A multiple times when civil wars was camping as a CT in the corner many rounds, and round after round he killed them cause they were so dumb as to check the corner. I would usually be the 5th one in the line and i swear Drowning Pools - Let the Bodies Hit The Floor was playing cause none of them looked to the left.. and they all fell.

Re: A Few Quick Tips
Best advice I can give:
Know the strengths and weakness of your weapon and your position.
For example:
During a slow-play: don't peek (or double peek for that matter) awpers. If you aren't awping back, you're at a huge disadvantage (and even if you have an awp, you're not in the best position). You got away once, don't test your luck. Throw smoke, or a flash or make a run for it, but don't try to be a hero and deagle them from across the map.
If you are defending. Don't run around like a madman, pick a spot and stick to it til you are spotted.
Unless the call is to pre-nade, save your nade for when you know someone is there. You only get one per round, so make it count--use your radar to find them, and lob some death their way.
and whatever you do...
Don't shoot me, its a tactical and strategic error, just like invading russia.

Re: A Few Quick Tips
whats sad is i was just telling everyone to check corners cause you did that, and the very next round it happened again, and i cleared it out and stood on everyones dead bodies repeating myself like a broken record player. IDK who I was talkin to about this. It was susan or faith or someone... its on the tip of my tongue...
anyways ya.
