If it is a general keyboard (wired only, like what comes with dells) than you can actually put it in the dishwasher on a cold cycle. Course yer gonna wanna let it try for several days after.

    Re: water damaged keyboard

if it was something sugary, and the keys are PHYSICALLY sticking down, pop em off, and use a qtip with a LIGHT amount of alcohol.....you'll be able to tell where the key makes contact with the keyboard itself....these are the areas to focus on.

bigger keys, like control, spacebar, enter, etc etc....will sometimes have a metal bar or something that distributes force when you press on the key over the whole key....be CAREFUL and PAY ATTENTION as you pop these up.....makes it a HELL of alot easier to get them back in.

references: being a dumbass whose almost ruined many a keyboard.

as for a replacement if it was really just water you spilled on it? well, if it was just water and the keyboard is acting up, then you're probably SOL.

and not being a dumbass anymore :-P
