"hacking" is a very loose term. it can sometimes be really as simple as using harvested usernames to continue the propagation. and remember, they wouldn't be doing it if people didn't fall for it.

there are rumors that they resell some accounts through various means. it's all a very shady deal.

Or you haven't made your account a "Verified" one.

In Steam go File-> Settings and look at the account.

It should look like this:

If it says "Unverified" there then you need to take the steps that I posted to get it verified.

yes thanks, I couldn't log in for a sec this morning and was like...

oh my god! but then it said the servers were busy and to try again and it worked. whew, that was a close on, I almost pissed myself

Way important thread IMO...can this be made into an in-game "flash" so peeps can see it that do not read all threads in forums?

Somehow, I believe many accounts are unverified.

Copy-pasting your password does not protect you from malicious programs... they can (and do) monitor your clipboard.

Correct, but the likelyhood that they would get past my anti-malware (and my own common sense) is very unlikely.

Nothing is 100% sure, but I am sure enough about my security to stake my future here at TTP on it. IE if my steam account got jacked it would mean my email pass was compromised also, which means some serious TTP related stuff would be exposed.
