Choke
For some reason I have been getting choke that is between 3-10 and as high as 57 when a bomb goes off or if in the middle of a shootout. Is there anything that I could do to alleviate this? I have 0 Loss and my ping is in the mid 50's. The rest of my specs are as follows:
cl_update 66
cl_cmdrate 66
rate 30000
cl_smooth 0
AMD Athlon 3800 OC'ed to 2.617 GHz
2 gig Kingston Hyper X DDR
EVGA nForce mb
EVGA 8800 GTX
Download for internet connection is 3mb down and 550kb up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

RE: Choke
Where are you located? A rate set that high would be ideal if you were in...Canada? If your in Texas I would set my rate to 10000-15000
3-10 is pretty normal honistly, and durring a firefight (especialy if anyone is flashing) it is also normal for it to spike, though 57 is pushing it unless your flashed at the time.
Almost everyone gets varying levels of choke.
ps: I would kill a man for your video card.
pss: if you are infact in Texas where in Texas are you? Address please. Its for...tracerout...choke detecting...purposes, I swear.

Choke
I am located in Minneapolis, MN. Will I be losing data if I lower my rates to 15000? Cant wait for DX10 to see what the card really will do. I might have to pony up for FX-55 or Dual Core FX-60 as I might be getting some bottlenecking from my CPU. However I am not sure, I have read differing opinions on bottlenecking as a result of the video card and my screen is 1680x1050 with all settings maxed which should give the card plenty to do.

also, nighttrain, try settig your cl_interp value to .03, instead of .01 or .10, whatever it is. .03, mathematically, is what it shoudl be for a fast 66-tic server (like TTP).
your rate settings are fine to me. A rate of 30000 is what I run as well. Anything less than that, and I see some choke.
sometimes, the net can be a little odd. Especially with all the storms in the midwest. Perhaps your connection/navigation to the server is being affected, and teh systems your connection is going through are dropping packets/losing data here and there.
run the tracert, but that's about all I can recommend.
