if a new player doesn't follow the call...
...i dont think we should call them 'a fucking idiot' for their first offense.
i hear this so many times, especially from some of the regs. whenever a terrorist doesn't follow the call, or a ct doesn't go after the bomb, or whatever... it almost always happens.
yes the rules are there, and maybe i'm being too nice, but at the same time i dont think this is the kind of attitude that will attract more players to keep playing on our server.
granted, there are some people that are just fucking asshats, and those people need to be perma banned, but i know if i were new to the server, and i didnt know the rules, and someone called me a fucking idiot, i would immediately be turned off from the server... cause thats the same kind of shit i get everywhere else.
i think new players (new to the game or new to the server) would be much more impressed if someone calmly explained to them what they did wrong and what the rules are on the server. this would also motivate them to keep playing on our server... cause the next time they play and are looking for a server... they would be like... 'hey... those guys didnt fucking yell at me for not knowing'I broadcast gaming videos on Twitch TV and my finished videos are on YouTube! Recently I shoutcasted the Counter Strike Tournament at PAX Prime 2012!

TTP does not condone this type of behavior. Pretty fucked up and I always went off on those who did do such rude things...
Lead by example and try to step in and say it's not needed immediately followed by a brief explanation that may help the noob out. <---best tact imo...
Fuck, I need to make my return..

Re: if a new player doesn't follow the call...
I say your right Rob and yes I called him a "fuckin idiot", because he didn't go for the bomb. He sat there an scouted.
The first time he did it, I let him know to go for the bomb nicely. Second time, I did the same and said that the admins will take care of him if he didn't. Then he did it a THIRD time! Then I got upset because it was costing MY team, which I put before me. Then, he did a fourth. That was it. I went crazy on him. What was his response? He responded to cuss me out and laugh at me in his mic when I called him a fuckin idiot.
He deserved everything that was coming to him.
Now if it were once or twice, I would have common curtsy and warn him; but after 4 times? Then it gets old.
I do agree with what you are saying though.

Re: if a new player doesn't follow the call...
Honestly the main culprits are a couple of people that have very little respect for new players (or experienced players for that matter). It comes down to lack of respect and they think they are amazing, and part of them feeling amazing is making the people around them feel like shit. I could name the players I'm thinking of but it wouldn't do any good. The community as a whole needs to check themselves and up the amount of respect paid to each other.

I agree with everything that has been said, I unfortunately have flipped out at people before. I was prolly having a bad day at the time, I know that doesn't make a difference because they don't know it. But I'm kind of going through some heavy shit right IRL. :3
