    Could be the length of the CD/Steam key. Where did you get this message and what were you trying to do?

    It's probably going to happen for a few hours or so. People need to update their server files for the new CS:S update that came out.

    i was trying to just joined a server that had some people in it.

    Go to your Steam folder, delete the "ClientRegistry.blob", then restart Steam. Try it then.
