Joining server/refresh server annoyance

So with the new update, it seems to me like it takes forever to refresh a particular server to see whos playing in it. Then after you finally get that to work it takes about another 3 minutes to join the server. Everytime I hit "join server" it says server not responding.

Im sure others have this problem, is there a fix for it? They would rather fix the stupid little petty shit rather than fix actual problems that Im sure most people have.

and even when i put in connect blablabla in console, it goes to connect but then says lost connection

Ya senses i had that same problem all night last night, and then my ping was all over the place. Idk whats going on but im really disapointed with this update i feel ripped off i want my money back for this game. because also with the new update it screwed my fps which is now forcing me into buying a new computer which i didnt really want to have to do right now.

I know that the server refresh thing is another glorious addition they did for orange box.

Takes as long to refresh a server for CSS now as it does in TF2. I know that quite a few other people were having trouble with the game taking forever to connect to the server and load the map, not sure if there was any fix for that or not.

When you first start up CSS make sure to go into the "Internet" servers tab (leftmost tab on server browser) and hit Stop Refresh. For some stupid reason, after this last update occurred, it does a "Refresh All" upon game startup on the internet tab even if that tab is not selected. This happens in TF2 as well. This will result in much longer than normal refresh times for your history and favorites tabs, and I'm pretty sure it will lag server joins and even gameplay once inside. If anyone knows what console command will stop the auto-refresh-all on game startup please let us know.

Had this problem too lately, even if I hit stop refresh it takes some time. Damn annoying.

Dual or Quad core? If so, enable multicore rendering in your video options. I don't why so many are having FPS issues...my FPS isn't affected at all.
