    Sights

I learned how to set my rates quite some time ago but for sights I am still using the crappy defaults. What are the commands to change your sights and what are the settings that you personally use? I want to try a couple different suggestions to see what works best for me.
    Thanks,
    Sight Noob

are you talking about the crosshair? cl_crosshairscale 2300 or something. Fool around with the size till you get it right, its higher number=smaller size I wanna say. You can change the color in options.

    Re: Sights

I guess I assumed they were crappy after the last upgrade when sights got set back to defaults. It seemed like alot of people were complaining how awful the defaults were and were asking what the new comands were for changing the sights. This made me think it might be good to try out what these other guys are using. Since we were in game I didn't try to change them at the time and didn't remember what people said they were using later.

You have to type this in first.
    cl_legacy_crosshair_scale 1
    then type in cl_crosshairscale #
I play on 4000, but it's up to you.

    Re: Sights

It's knida pointless to ask other's for their crosshairscale, because the actual size of each scale differs from resolution to resolution.

Just play around with some different values till you get something you like.

Not if you use the new settings, which was the entire point of changing things. The new settings are measured in number of pixels at 640X480.
    Consistency is now in effect.

First, and most significant, is changing the dynamic crosshair to reflect actual current weapon accuracy. Most experienced players know that the crosshair animation is completely decoupled from the actual accuracy of your current weapon. The current crosshair animation is at best slightly misleading, at at worse completely at odds with what your current accuracy actually is. We think showing actual weapon accuracy via the crosshair will both reduce complaints of improper bullet registration and help CS players improve their skill.

We've already experimented with this, and we anticipate that this will lead to a flurry of bug reports regarding weapon accuracy, and many of these will be justified. There are some weapon accuracy problems long overdue for fixes that will be exposed by this.

The second change is that we will be providing an updated UI for configuring all aspects of the crosshair, including the new color options, and thickness options. We'll also be clearing up the confusion with regard to translucency.

The third change is that we'll be providing an option to show a fixed center dot in the crosshair. We think this will answer part of the desire for smaller crosshairs which is to always track the dead center of the aim point.
Fixed center dot option, and now crosshair expansion will actually match weapon accuracy!

    We can do better.
