i can't believe that someone with a > 1200 total sens would be considered high sens... and that he intimates someone with sensitivity like that can 'whip around and 180 someone in a matter of milliseconds'.

you can't turn 180 degrees with sens that low without flicking the mouse 3-4 times... and that's high sens? lmao!

My current settings are 2000 dpi, window sens 1, in game sens 1.2. I recently lowered my resolution and my normal sensitivity of .8 just felt like it was too low. I play on a small desk with a small mousepad and with this set up one swipe across my pad is roughly a 270 degree turn.

As for what I do when I hit a rough stretch, it's usually listen to music. I lower my in game volume down so that it's just loud enough that I can hear calls. If I'm really getting frustrated, I'll play something ridiculous, like the soundtrack to Rocky or something really gay like Britney Spears. Just helps to remind me to not take this game too seriously and that I need to have fun. That's the most important thing for me...To just keep reminding myself that I play this game for fun.

I used the same formula to come up with my sens a long ass time ago(and it was actually really close to what I had already). I believe that I heard it from either juan or waL....not sure which.

@ manno, I only knew of 4-5 people with high sens. playing main+ but it's not like I went looking...you can usually just tell because high sens players are twitchy usually...forever0, zet, devour,daemos,marlin and mOE are the only ones I can think of that you could just tell had higher sens. I know that zet played with 16 in-game sense and I don't know the others in-game sense for sure but I would guess them to be somewhere around 4-5....which is pretty high unless you are running a 400 dpi mouse. I remember there being a cal-invite thread a long time ago asking what peoples sens was and almost every reply was <2. Granted, those I named are easily some of the best players in the game, with devour probably being the best player in source period, it's just not as common for people to be very consistently good with a high sensitivity.

My total sens comes out to being 896 and I can turn with two swipes =/

agree completely. This is what I do and even if you're in the middle of a map and you're rollin 1-7 kdr, you can still come back to even it out atleast 1-1 if you keep a good mindset. Try a new gun, it could help refresh your mind

mine is 2850... sounds like thats relatively high :/ but it was much higher in bf2... so this is actually low for me. ofc bf2 is a totally different game with things coming at you from every angle and no real chokepoints to speak of.

ceste la vi. i guess i'll probably keep gradually lowering it...

when you say <2, you mean css options menu sens?

Yes I do, but by all means play with what you are comfortable with. Nothing says you can't be good with high sens it's just generally harder to do. zet was generally considered the best rifler in the world for a loooooooooong time and his in game sense was 16.0. I would recommend the default windows sens, then to adjust the rest via in game menu and dpi settings because when windows mouse sensitivity changes it can make your cursor skip dots/pixels.
