    What would you improve on?

I thought this would be a cool topic and may help some of you self analyze your game (and maybe get better!)

As a player, what is the area of your game that needs the most improvement? For example, it could be using a specific gun, shot calling, playing in clutch moments, aiming, staying calm, etc.

If you had to choose someone from TPG to coach you on your area of improvement, who would it be and why?

    Hmmm....I'll start.

I would say my biggest area for improvement would be sniping. For some reason, I have a very quick trigger finger and cannot stay as relaxed as some of the other great snipers on TPG, such as Trigger, Duddy, hub, Pimp, Yung...etc. I have a habit of wanting to be the aggressor, so I would need someone to coach me on how to stay relaxed, poised and in great position to be effective. I have no idea if I need to change my sensitivity on the fly to snipe, if I need to pull my mouse down when I shoot, or if I need to aim ahead of the moving player.

I would choose Idunn as my coach because not only is he incredible at sniping, but he is VERY relaxed and easy going(like me), so he would have the patience to give me pointers and tips on how to improve my game. My runner up coach would be madmax (a very underrated sniper), because he too has that "coach" personality and would have the patience to teach me effectively.

So, who is gonna coach me?

Oh man, where do I begin?

My main complaint about my game is my aim and subsequently shot control. There are so many great potential coaches out there, Duddy, Pimp, Vaf, Dunn, Fly, Toker.... but I would probably go with Smoken or Scrum because I have always admired how they can call a game, lead a rush, and still maintain a good score. I know Vafa is a superstar at that as well, but I am sure he will be busy with everyone else that mentions him, lol.

Re: What would you improve on?

Hmmm, all of the above. I haven't played enough recently to really keep up my aim for it to be as good as it should and I almost never do good under pressure. If it is just me vs 3 or more enemies, I'll usually die.

I use to be able to call some strats but it seems we have a lot of good strat callers now so I never really see a need to make calls. I am good at leading a rush though if I am up front and actually know where I am going. Some of these new maps get confusing if you don't play them enough and some of these strats get confusing too.

I would really like to improve on my patience.
I all too often find myself in clutch situations where I get way too impatient and end up losing the round.
For some reason when it gets to be these very close 3-2-1 on 1 scenarios I find myself getting squirley, peeking corners recklessly and just generally making a lot of noise while I should be being patient and waiting..
I often notice that Mr_Blonde_Ops preforms very well in clutch scenarios, and I would most likely choose him for being a coach/mentor.

I would definitely like to improve on my calling. I can call but i'm just not confident with them and will easily let someone take over if i lose a few rounds.

too many good shot callers to pick one tho.

Re: What would you improve on?

Probably my aim. I'm usually fairly handy for a clutch and make some solid calls on the rare occasion I pick that particular baton up. I miss alot of shots that I used to make now As for the coach, myself. As I already pointed out, I used to make them; I just don't DM or scrim very often, both of which are far better at developing good aim than playing in other venues(DM for obvious reasons and scrims because you are playing better players with better shots)

I'll toss out a tip here simply because I have a feeling alot of people are going to say they want to improve their clutch play: you're goal in a 1vs multiples situation is to be random. Doing the expected gets you killed because they expect it. Be random - find quirky spots, push when they don't expect it, come at them from an usual place, Run a few steps in a direction when they can hear you then walk the other way, etc. Those are the things that will give you an advantage in a clutch situation. To go along with being random, you have to hit your shots or surprising them doesn't do much good. Also, keeping an eye on the clock helps. If you've got 2 minutes left, take your time. They WILL get antsy and give themselves away more often than not. If time is close then you obviously have to be more aggressive...just be aggressive intelligently; rushing out into the middle of site will rarely win the round for you.

Re: What would you improve on?

I would also like to work on my shot calling. Who better than to learn if from than the best of the best, Vafa. There are a lot of good shot callers out there that I respect and envy, but no one is as unique as Vafa is with his calls. That is why I think they are so effective. My problem is that I can make a couple good calls, but then I start to doubt myself and end up being afraid to call and lead my team into a total massacre. So basically how to read the CTs movements and prepare a strat for the next round.

Sid I'd be glad to have you as my Padawan lol. One thing that I would add to Rawrkittys very good lesson, is that you also need to be thinking in the other persons shoes. How would I be trying to kill the last enemy and where is the best entrance way to attack from. Foot steps are the biggest key to a clutch situation. Most likely everyone SHOULD be walking if it is a clutch situation, but before the enemy gets to you, from rotating, he most likely will be running. So get up to a wall and or position that you know he is coming from and listen for his footsteps. This way you can peek and have that bullet ready to fire at his skull.

Re: What would you improve on?

My aim, if you have noticed I am not running around with the p90 as much. I have improved, well till my 4-36 run the other night. Everything went bad.

I am using more of the scout and ak's/m4's. I am doing less rushing and holding back. I would like Vafa as my coach being that hes laid back. He also rushes with the best but he can sit back an get picks with ak/m4.

I would also like Spring to teach me to scout. I can dink people for 60 dmg but I don't get the Headshot Spring does. Spring has already gave me some tips.

Re: What would you improve on?

I need to improve in every area.

I can call shots. sometimes i get flustered and i can't come up with calls quickly enough.

I have terrible patience. I almost never clutch. I run around like crazy during slow plays, which pisses my team off. I have gotten better. I used to over-rotate like a softball toss when playing ct.

I spray way too much, Well its whats fun. My aim is decent but slow. I never AWP because i'm terrible.

My Coaches: Madmax and wishbear will teach me the ins and outs of spots on maps and particular advantageous areas. Duddy and Yung and Kokes will teach me how to awp and clutch. I think i'm gonna demo y'all and try to learn some things.

Re: What would you improve on?

My long range bursting, especially with the AK. I can rush like mad and my aim up close is fine, but on long range maps my burst control kills me. I see guys like SawEmOff and Pimp who seem to be able to land 4 out 5 bullets in every burst at long range. I always feel like I'm doing something wrong. Like I shoot four bullets, wait, shoot four bullets, and only 1 or 2 of them hit.

I would pick SawEmOff to coach me.

Also I'd love to get better at shot calling. I'd pick Scrum or Slikathanky for coaching that.
