De_Chateau restoration project

So I got bored the other day and started messing around with Chateau. My first thoughts were to re-create the map using the Blueprints inside the front door of the map, but I found something more fun to do...restoring the chateau to it's former glory before it got old and broken looking. I'm far from finished, but I thought I'd share my boredom with you guys.

I started exporting some of the dirty looking textures from the map and restored them back. Mainly it was most of the wallpaper, and tile flooring. While doing that I fixed a good portion of the holes in the walls and floors, and removed all the rubble from the ground. I've yet to play with the lights or add any props to make it look lived in, but that will come later. For now it's just a little project to keep me busy till I test\fix Colmar some more, but I may end up releasing it as an actual map...maybe...

I'm assuming everyone viewing the thread will know the map, so I'm only posting SS of the Fixed map.

It will look really nice when it gets some furniture. Are you adding anything major to change the strats of the map?

I'm gunna throw some more windows in there, and see what I can do about making it an actual working map. Would be cool to get to play it, but I gotta figure out how to make it work right with all the changes. I'm also gunna change up the lighting, maybe make it a night map that way the house lights can glow better.

Looks awesome, nice job!

Even if all you did was remove the chairs and other clutter from the floor, the map would be improved. I can't count the number of times I've wanted to throw my mouse across the room because some stupid junk is bumping into me as I turn a corner in that map.
