None taken. Truth of the matter is that I don't remember who has yelled at me. It's not that big of a deal to me, so I haven't paid that much attention.

I have too object too the diamond in the rough i was treated same way when i came here and a true diamond in the rough takes it in stride and learns how too follow and earns respect and not take it so defensively. made me try harder. cause ya might miss out on a bunch of great (some may need a little anger-management). players and an awesome server

Quick Background: I played CS 1.5 and a little bit of 1.6 but quit playing when BattleField came out. I played that for a month or two and have played a FPS since then. So I sorta know the basics and it was fairly easy to remember some of the maps. I bought CSS for $5 on thanksgiving or somewhere thereabouts but was unable to play much until the mid december because of exams. I went out and bought a mic specifically to play CSS on these servers.

I <3 the team play aspect on this server and I'm either playing here or not playing --save perhaps a few rounds of gungame from time to time.

My perspective on playing here: Because I want to play here, I initially found it very intimidating. A wrong turn down a new map and you have a half dozen people yelling at you. Even if I did have the gist of a particular map, the terminology used to describe specific portions of the map are not always intuitive. Despite my best efforts, I've ran down the wrong halls, made wrong turns and ran past everyone when they suddenly started walking. Initially I was yelled at far more often then I was offered constructive criticism.

There have been several players who have gone out of their way to help and I really found that helpful. I realize that its not always easy to throw a bit of advice out to the new guys (and that during the middle of a heated game is likely not the best time) but I bet you'll continue to find diamonds in the rough.

All-in-all, thanks for the great server, great people and great team orientated gameplay!

NOTE: Some new players have no intention of playing in this type of atmosphere and don't deserve much of your efforts.

It took me a second to realize where I have heard that from before, R. Lee Ermey in that commercial. I will undoubtably have to incorporate Jack Wagons and Mamby Pamby Land into regular conversation.

But as far as this whole thread goes, I think that people have been more patient. Its really easy to tell the difference between a new player that is lost and an experienced player that is being a selfish KD slut.

Bumping this because I'm still seeing lots of new faces on the server every day.

Let's continue to be welcoming and direct them to the forums.
I broadcast gaming videos on Twitch TV and my finished videos are on YouTube! Recently I shoutcasted the Counter Strike Tournament at PAX Prime 2012!

    Re: Influx of New Players

Hey everyone. I'm one of the new players Rob's talking about (he was nice enough to direct me here personally). I've been playing on the TPG no AWP server pretty religiously the past few weeks. Best CSS server I've ever played on, and like most here I've been playing CS for more years than I'd like to admit :x

Love the teamwork, love the mix of god-like players and noobs and everyone in between. Love indaface, whose raging makes mine seem tame by comparison :P

Thanks everyone for the welcome so far. I've gotten 2 of my friends to start playing on this server as well because of how great ya'll have been. In the future I'd like to form a clan, but it would be very casual as myself (and most of the members) would probably be military and need a lot of schedule flexibility.

    Re: Influx of New Players

Tiedup/myself/Duster Bouglas and a couple other experienced players who I hadn't seen on TPG before got a very new T team into gear on piranesi last night. I think illsick was the only other reg on the team. By the end of the map we had them executing calls (such as they are, on pira T side) like champs and turned it around into a victory! Sure, it was piranesi, but trust me it's a little more challenging when "what's sneaky" is the rule rather than the exception. Good communication and good listeners from a crop of new TPGers, it was great to see and hopefully we get a lot of them returning.

Tiedup, welcome! Happy to hear you're bringing your friends to our server, as well.

If you're interested in forming a clan sometime in the future, then you may want to take a look at the clan residency offered here at TPG (Requests for a Clan Forum) as well as the list of current resident clans (http://www.teamplayergaming.com/foru...resident-clans).
