Thread: Admin Question

I am just wondering about this admin response. We were playing D2 on CT and an admin posted this after someone smoked mid a couple times. Yes, I understand that it limits CT's ability to call short, but I am really not understanding how this can be an enforced rule? I didn't see or hear anyone (IE call) say "Don't smoke mid" but then this came up. I am just curious if this is a new rule I didn't hear about?

(ALL) ADMIN: Next CT to smoke middle will be banned.
(ALL) ADMIN: No reason for a CT to smoke middle at the start of the round.

Unless I'm missing something...

I don't see a problem with smoking mid unless someone asks you not to than it would be nice not to. Smoking mid can be helpful to hide the number of CTs going to B and not allow the T counting to make a call.

Not an admin but i mean CT's can make calls too right? So if someone "called" dont smoke mid and a ct did it repeatedly to be annoying than isnt that a reason for ban? But I see it as there was no one telling the CT not to do that.

Wait...that's a valid tactic to prevent being AWPed on CT side..(Dust 2, I assume?)

By "beginning of the round' does the admin mean the pistol round?

I was playing this round as well. I was T at the time, and no one on the T side was complaining (or AWPing).

If the call was from a ct, not to smoke mid, then you should be a teamplayer and not smoke it so your teammate can play mid

I 100% agree with you though, if it was not called, bans should not be issued

I was their to see what happend. A ct was smoking middle every round while 2 CT scouters were trying to call out the rotation. I and another player asked him to stop. He did it again and that followed with an admin warning. Masterblaster decided he was going to be cute and smoked middle on his was by to B, which earned a kick from the admin. Smoking middle can be a tatic for CT's when agreed on with other players, however someone smoking it to be an ass is a different story. Why would a player smoke our side of middle but rush up middle towards T spawn leaving the smoke several yards way behind him? To be a jerk thats why. As long as a player is causing a distraction in game, he/she will be dealt with.
