This never used to be a problem. I honestly cant pin it down as to why our regulars are so boring...

We used to play custom maps like crazy. Well, some of those maps aren't around anymore, but still, we have a healthy mix of new maps that never get played.

hurm?! Always been a problem. You have a handful of players playing long sessions, but the votes are always controlled by the gamers on short sessions who practically change out every 1-2 maps. These short session'ers want to play their favorite maps during their limited available play time. So the played map subset is extremely limited, as most short session gamer's favorite maps are NOT custom maps. Subsequently, the long session'ers get super tired of the constant repeat of maps (especially with CSS's round based gameplay). So in short, the short session'ers selfish map choices discourage long session'ers from sticking around for long. So in the end you get a whole lot of short sessioners and very few long sessioners... Especially as of late because the games gotten really old, so the number of long sessioners has degraded that much more.

I remember back in the day of static rotations, easily had 14-20 long sessioners playing for 4-6 hours at a time. Those were the days, no awp votes, no RTV or map votes, so people couldnt bitch and complain... sigh, boy do i miss those days...

Not to mention BF* and COD* ran/run on static map cycles just fine...

    +1

I say test it on one server and see how it works. At least then we can sprinkle in some customs.

Before TF2 we had more regulars who played longer sessions. Playing custom maps was something everyone enjoyed and only a handful would complain....
