Ok, here goes another one. Starting on Friday (9/2/11) at 8PMCST, I will be giving away one (1) copy of Counter-Strike: Source. If you always wanted to try the game, but never took the leap...here's your chance to get the game for free.

One number from 1-1000, will be chosen. Post your number, the closest number will win.

Judging from the other thread(you can find it in DoD forums) he gets someone else to put it in on random.com or something.

the problem with having it public is that those picking after you will have the better opportunity

e..g assume no one else guesses, then at the end, 2 people enter. one picks 507 and the other picks 505

imo, guesses should be PMed. Or people should just enter, guyver assigns a number to each person (e.g. 1-n, first person to enter gets #1 and last person gets #n), then use a random number generator to pick a number between 1 and n.

this way is fine too, but strategically speaking, you don't gain from picking early

The number is picked after the contest ends. I have no way of knowing what the number will be.
