    Convert .dem files?

I want to upload some css demos to youtube but I need to convert them. What software can I use to convert .dem files? Also what video format should i convert them to for best quality?

    Re: Convert .dem files?

I haven't done made any CS videos in a very long time, so things may have changed (and someone feel free to correct me if that's the case). But, as I remember, it wasn't as easy as simply just "converting" the demo into a video file, per se. I had to use a console command (I think?) to take screen captures at 30 frames/sec and dump all the screen captures into a folder. Then, used video editing software to compile those screenshots into a video. This was like 8 years ago though, for CS 1.6, so I hope the process has gotten easier.

    CS Source Movie Making

This is an old guide for movie making. I think it still should work, but I'm not totally sure. If you're just uploading single clips by themselves, you can just watch the demos in CS using the command demoui and then record what you want using Fraps. Then you can use another program to edit them or add music you want...Windows Movie Maker for really simple edits or to add music, or programs like Sony Vegas if you're doing something more complicated
