i looked every website in the internet for a solution to the problem.
every solution i try to do was a fail. it did not work.

i bought l4d2 on steam.
and does other multiplayer games from the internet affects the game?

Just fixed it then with out having to re-install Steam/Left 4 Dead!


Simple;

Open Steam > Tab My Games > Right Click Left 4 Dead, Properties > Tab Local files..

Then Verify integrity of game cache...

And finally do Defragment cache files.


Once you have done that, restart Steam and launch Left 4 Dead

If you're wanting to use this method to 'save time' so you don't have to wait, what, 3-4 hours?

It takes round about the same time to Validate the Steam Files.

So you might as well just do either since it's not going to save you time either way. Try this method, since it seems pretty good and it's worked for me, even if it did take the same amount of time to install on my crappy laptop (6-7 hours) but If it doesn't work for some strange reason, just uninstall it + re-install it.
